Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
Watson-McAllister would be perfect. Murphy shouldn't really be anywhere near a title challenge.
Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
And McAllister talks about getting a rematch against Murray?
Shame because I actually think Lee is a good little boxer, but lightweight is a great little division domestically and he should have some better names (outside of Murray obviously) on his record.

Yes, John would be more worthy.... or Gary Buckland, Willie Limond or even the fighter who won the Prizefighter that Murphy lost in.

it would be a good fight and id edge toward watto on points but with them having the same trainer it wuld make things difficult hpe something turns up for you soon though john
Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
the commonwealth title is being really devalued lately, dodgy africans and novices that shouldnt be near a title. They are so one sided i cant even watch most now

Murphy is big strong will be superfit.
He was recently robbed in Sunderland in his last fight. Which leads you to think he could be 7-0 really.
He's had a blessing in disguise getting robbed as may have made him more appealing as an opponent.
He is aggressive and can hit. Probably favour Mcallister to frustrate him but it WILL be a fight.
Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
mcallaster trains in aberdeen and john trains in liverpool its not like their there in the same gym.john didnt you win a 10 round points verdict over gethin for the vacant english lightweight title? why havent you got it round your waist but gethin has,id start calling fighters out mate and get what you deserve and thats some titles

McAllister is sooo over-rated. This fight is no more than a okay 8 rounders. I can't believe Sky will give it airime particularly after McAllister was so poor the other week and this is box office

Lee need's to step up the competition soon. Murphy is not worthy of a Commonwealth title shot and neither was the other challengers.

Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
I beat Gethin in a British title eliminator, Martin has since regained the English title. I've had a slow year with the colapse of setanta and an injury but I have been busy in the gym all year round. I'm due to box Martin Watson march 19th over 8 and hope to get a shot at the British or commonwealth soon!! I'm also really happy to be working with Frank Maloney now! And Apart from Murray and Mitchel I feel I'd beat anybody at lightweight now and with a couple more good learning fights I'll be ready for them too!!!
Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
Murphy beat Buckland in a fight. I think Murphy could beat Mcallister.
Re: Lee McAllister defends on the Haye bill against.........
“Aberdeen Assassin” Lee McAllister defends his Commonwealth lightweight title on the big Haye-Ruiz bill in Manchester in April against gutsy Sussex battler Ben Murphy.
Despite his colourful ring moniker, McAllister is no puncher but a rangy, quick, tricky, counterpunching type with a hardworking attitude to his fights and his career. He won the belt, the proper belt, last year and has already retained twice and now for the stocky, aggressive if relatively inexperienced Murphy who comes off a bustling 10-round decision over Lee Cook for the Southern Area lightweight belt and holds a fine six-round decision over previously unbeaten Gary Buckland in Portsmouth in 2008, the Welshman who once held Amir Khan to a close decision in the amateurs (13-10 to be precise).
Otherwise, Murphy has remained firmly in the shadows at 7-2-1 (3) and ‘bombed’ in a recent Prizefighter event, although he is no kid at 30 (by the time of the fight) and travels around from his Hove base for quality sparring. He has never been stopped.
Nevertheless, McAllister, who has lost only to Dean Hickman and John Murray in 33 outings, looks too slick and seasoned.
