Danny Williams calling out Tyson

Post by barry »

I just read on boxing central a letter by Danny Williams putting Tyson down stating that Tyson never seemed to want to challenge anyone that has beaten him, except Holyfield! Funny he should be saying that after the sound thrashing that Vitali gave him...guess he doesn't understand the definition of contradiction! Of course he wants another big payday, so what better than to go after a fighter that you have already beaten, who is about 15 years past his prime! Sounds to me like the real coward was the fellow writing the letter!

i put williams in the same catagory as audley harrison! just trying to get wins by the easiest way possible. i cant stand him. he was lucky with tyson, now thinks he can do it again. tyson was all over williams untill he injured himself. i think he needs to be taught a lesson by tyson. tyson needs to put him in his place!!

If Tyson would have trained, he would probably have beaten Williams! It wasn't Williams punches that beat Tyson, it was Tyson's conditioning, or lack of! He certainly didn't look hurt while the ref counted him out, but he did look exhausted!

im not a HUGE tyson fan and im not one of those who think tyson is a god and can do anything, but i certainly think tyson knew he could not win the fight due to his injury, so decided to stay down. like you said, he definetly did not look hurt or dazed. i think he could have easily of got up!!

I agree, I think Tyson was great, prior to 1990!

Tyson will knock Williams out in 2 or 3 this time if he bothers to train.

Well I reckon Tyson could prove it was the knee injury. Is Tyson still capable of going longer rounds though and if he ain't what if Williams takes advantage. Would he get up from a Tyson knockdown as he did with Vitali's?

I'm not a big fan of either of these men. I was surprised that Danny beat Tyson, even as has-been over the hill Tyson. After seeing him for two years before the fight, I never rated Williams.

However him calling people out is nothing knew. He was calling out Audley Harrison since AH debuted. When Frank Bruno announced he might come back from retirement, Danny Williams asked if he could be Franks first opponent. No lie, he even once called out Lennox Lewis, asking to be his last world title challenger, and for it to be in London.

Anything for a bit of free publicity is our Danny.

I would have thought Sports Network wrote that little piece, I doubt Danny had anything to do with it. It has the hallmarks of a SN press release.

Danny is making himself look like a twat now, Tyson knows Danny aint got a big mouth and is only calling tyson out because Tyson is still the biggest draw in the division, I have to say danny was lucky against Tyson and i fear Tyson would do more damage to him that Klitc did.

How he's got the balls to call anyone out after his shabby effort in December is beyond me. What weight will he be for his next fight, 20 stone? Unless he is planning on getting down to 245 or below he should hang up his gloves.

I don't think tyson is physically capable of throwing as many punches as Klitchsko any more. However, there's no way on god's earth Tyson's backers will put him in with Williams again.

I wouldn't mind seeing the two go at it again...the first fight was a good one until Tyson ran out of gas!

Yeah, it would be a good chance for Tyson to redeem himself, and given the choice he would probably take the fight too. However, I cannot see it happening, they'll not want to put him in with anyone risky, and Williams will always be brave enough to make it a risk.

Tyson did rock him faster than Vitali but he managed to stay due to clintching. But as Danny said Tyson hits harder than Vitali so he could do more damage.
