Prepare for fight of the year 2005...Gatti/PBF is on...!

Post by Jedi Knight »

Just heard:

Looks like the Floyd Mayweather vs Arturo Gatti pay-per-view is on. Mayweather was sentenced Wednesday to community service for his role in a bar fight in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Floyd was facing up to three months in jail, which would have kayoed the June 11 Gatti clash. He pleaded no-contest to a misdemeanor assault and battery charge.
Taken from fightnews today...

I will hold out on predictions just yet but one thing I do predict is that this will be an absolute barn burner.

Cagey for the first three then prepare for the fight to ignite and ....... sorry getting into predictions here....can't help meself.

Can't get too excited over this one to be honest, looks a mismatch even.
Gatti wont lay a glove on Floyd, and will get picked off for his troubles and cut to ribbons.

Hmm, not so convinced myself. If Gatti does land one flush, I think it's goodnight Vienna, Gatti is a very strong LW, and Floyd is really still a lightweight, and a small one at that naturally.

I fornicating hope someone shows this,....yooohoooo Setanta!

One bad thing to come out of this , is that Witter won't get a look in on Gatti.

Whoever wins between Gatti and Mayweather wouldn't be looking for another fight till earliest August-September.

And i don't see Witter being at the top of a list of possible opponents, hopefully he might get a spot on the undercard of Gatti v Mayweather, might serve as a way of getting Branco fight out the way

Hopefully Mayweather gets his ass kicked in this one, I really don't like him, he seems pretty handy when it comes to slapping women about

Could have been worse, could have been

"Coming ON everything"

Who writes these posters.

Surely 'Leaving it all in the ring' would have been better.

'jizzing on allcomers' Hmm, how about 'The killer from near Manila!' Or 'Manik Depression' or, or, 'Philip in o' Mexico'...

This one, as shown above, resists a good tagline.

I thought that one was pretty good! Still getting used today, infact they used that for Jermain Taylors fight on sat night.

A good one from a Laila Ali fight;

" They're gonna get it on, cos they don't get along!"

Mayweather wins and gives Witter his rightful shot. Witter vs Mayweather is a salivatating contest.
