British boxers are the best in Europe!

Post by ruga »

Hi, my name is Ruga, I'm a fan of all british and irish boxers. I'm happy because our boxers dominate the european scene. Nathan Cleverly, Brian Magee, Matthew Macklin, Jamie Moore, Paul McClosley, Rendall Munroe, are all european champions and in the heavyweight Albert Sosnowsky is Polish but is resident in England!
In the world scene I think germans are favourite because they have the Sauerland, the best promoters in the world at the moment. I watched the match Huck - Afolabi and I think the huck's victory wasn't correct: Afolabi was the real winners of that bout!!!
I hope McDonnell wins the european bantham title so we can be happy again!
COME ON HAYE, FROCH AND kHAN!!!
Bye for now

I'll be honest I think "British based fighters" are second only to "German based" fighters, though admittedly most fighters based in Germany aren't actually German

Yep,

I could list 10 off the top of my head that are not German, yet are perhaps based there and sold as German.

Apart from say, Ali Numbembe etc we have very few that we'd call our own ? Is that because we have such a talent pool as opposed to the Germans ?

Apart From Braehmer, they have nobody that isn't Armenian, Hungarian, Finnish, Uzbek, Russian/Ukranian or Cuban.

Even Stieglitz is Russian.

Sturm, Sylvester and Zbik are all German born too.

with murray, mcdonnell and harrison to challenge for euro hounour, the UK could end up with 9 current Euro champs out of 14 weight categories, not bad going really.

Actually Germany hasn't a good heavyweight. Brahmer is one of the best lightheavyweight but Britain has Cleverly, he need experience but in one or two year he can win a world belt. Arthur Abraham is strong too, but Carl Froch is probably the best supermiddlewight in the world and I think he'll win the super six.
At the moment Germany is better then Britain only in the middleweight class, they have Felix Sturm and Sylvester but Britain has a new great talent, Mattew Macklin....
Personally I don't rate Zbyck, I watched the bout against Spada and the italian was the real winner, but you know the german was at home...
What others great boxers has Germany? No one in the rest of boxing weight class, instead Britain (and Ireland) has many talents and champions like Khan, Munroe, McClosley, Munroe, Burns...
