Interesting that King feels Khan has dodged Devon Alexander. I reckon the line 'I had a fight with my world champ Devon Alexander lined up but Amir ran away FROM his promoter FW anbd ran away from the deal' says all we need to know about Khan at the minute.

He, along with his camp and the rest of the boxing fraternity, do not seem convinced of his CURRENT ability.

The only one who seemed ti have any confidence in the kid was FW!!

Not sure I agree with that obviously biased account from King. I'd have thought that Khan is avoiding Alexander no more than I avoid brushing my teeth before bedtime when I'm half pissed and want to go to bed.

Khan is a strange position where he is elevated above where he should be in the game but everyone guns for him....

There are bigger fights Khan could've taken over Alexander anyway, so its largley irrelevant. The reality is everyone at 140 is mad not to be gunning for Khan so he's always going to be avoiding someone. I would've liked to have seen Khan in with a better opponent than Malignaggi, but at 22 years old I think he's ticking over nicely and as long as he keeps winning the big fights will come. I have seen plenty of worse title challengers than Malignaggi in the past that haven't recieved the same level of criticism.

He did his mandatory against Salita but because the WBA can't stop handing out belts they decided to try and force another mandatory straight after. The fact that most people are desperate to see Khan in with a banger is why this is often ignored. Like I said before, there are bigger fights out there than Malignaggi and more testing fights, but in the grand scheme of things Malignaggi is a solid second defense and decent American debut opponent.
