I don't think anyone is sure!!

My understanding is that knockdown rounds are nearly always given 10-8, unless the guy who was knocked down was totally dominant, and the knockdown was very much a "flash" knockdown.

As such, take a round that might have been scored even, or might have been given to either fighter without the knockdown- if one guy goes down, it's virtually always given as 10-8.

For sure, the guy who put's the other fighter down wins the round- being the better man that round- that's understood. But with the scoring as it is at the moment, I feel it can be an unrepresentative advantage over just 3 rounds (As, I feel, was the case on Friday.)

i think it was more orthadox vs southpaw which put brett down,as arron was coming forward bret was trying to get out the way but the legs got in the way,i think he could of stayed up and just bundled onto the ropes took a few arm punches and rode the storm but these things happen,i wanted brett to win being a birkenhead lad myself

if it was going to be anything it should of been a 10-9 with the knockdown in arron's favour cause imo brett was winning the last round and had round 2 in the bag

I was thinking along those lines, but weren't sure of how dominant the downed fighter had to be to claim a round.
