Dominic Vea v Rob Norton - Commonwealth Cruiserweight title

Post by nigeltsport »

Rob Norton's manager P J Rowson says he has not heard directly from Core Street Promotions about the fight but says that he understands that they are only willing to fund Norton + one other to travel and only 5 days before the fight.

Extended interview on Ricky Hatton's website in the programme "In The Corner" http://www.brandhatton.com/TV-Features/ ... mme_2.aspx

Shorter clip in the video news: http://www.brandhatton.com/TV

Pretty padded record but without having ever seen the bloke I'm not sure how this fight would go...

Not that Vea's record is full of high quality match ups either...

The poms only gave Dale Westerman fairs for two and 3 days before the fight to go to england and fight Carl Froch for the Commonwealth title.

There's a similar, interesting thread on the same subject in the Pommy forum.

I disagree. A perfect fight for Vea would be Forsyth at CW. 8)

I hope this fight does come off, I'd like to see an Aussie with the Commonwealth belt, and hopefully some renewed interest in the title over here. But there's a big difference between the fight going to purse bid and the fighters standing across the ring from each other.

and then Vea can come to UK to fight David Dolan or Mark krence. :box:
