Warrens latest libel writ

Post by TerribleTerry »

I notice that Hertfordshire's touchiest man has issued a high court writ for libel and slander against former colleague Frank Maloney over comments made regarding Broadhursts experience levels prior to taking on Haskins.

Oh dear oh dear.

I would love to see a copy of his annual legal bill :o

I don't recall the comments, but the result of the fight certainly seemed to indicate that it was Broadhurst's lack of pro experience that was his downfall against Haskins.

In my opinion the comments were totally innocuous and completely justified, Deserter.

It totally beggars belief.

How can you issue a writ against someone for expressing an opinion? And a pretty low key one at that. What a plank.

Next thing you know, his lackeys will be threatening people on forums who dare to question anything he does.

This is the guy who published unfounded rumours about a top British boxer and his trainer abusing steroids in his weekly column.

He's a complete plank, and worse than that, a dangerous one.

i'm in agreement with the opinions on this thread.

i recall the stuff he wrote about david haye, in the months haye was waiting for the mormeck fight. FW wrote some right garbage, about haye having such terrible hand problems that he won't be around long enough to fight mormeck - something like that.

at least haye took it out on maccarinelli's chin, payback the old fashioned way. not like the corporate whiners of today.

Yes but Warren needs to teach guys to push him around. Thats why he has been so succesful as a promoter because he doesnt let anyone take the piss.

For example, Warren must have paid A LOT of money to get Tzsyu over to UK to fight Hatton, when Tzsyu was one of the best fighters in the world. Warren got Hatton that fight and then he leaves.

So he needs to teach guys that they cant take the piss. :bag:

What a load of cobblers.

Frank Maloney is not some 'guy' he is a fellow promoter, who once worked closely with Warren.

Whilst yes, he is quite right to not let people 'take the piss' (and who can blame him) but there is a time and as situation for the legal team to dive in. And this certainly NOT one of the occasions.

At first i thought have been an in-joke between them both - and I still hope that's the case !

(afterall one Frank has a political campaign approaching and the other Frank has an autobiography coming out)
