skelton wins in ko6
i thought matt showed that he has come a long way in the last four months. he seemed to be putting together a lot more combinations and looked more of a boxer. My money is on him vs Williams

Matt skelton is a joke that fight was a joke. ffs looked like 2 overweight guys wrestling about the ring. that fabio was a joke, a never knew he was going to be that fat and overweight, he was knackered after the first round ,and matt skelton pushed him over in the first round that was never a knock down, plus he kept runing into him and pushed him over the rope and punched him what was that all about??? put him in with a boxer who is conditioned and can box a bit and he would get sparked out. MATT SKELTON A BOXER YOUR HAVEING A LAUGH

It's always the same story after a skelton fight. people talk him down and say they can't see him going any further but he keeps winning. 16-0 (15kos) is a formidable record. hes scared of no one and have you seen any other fighter in the british heavyweight division with anywhere near as high a workrate and as much desire as him.
He`s effective at what he does.
What would you say is his worst type of opponent?
I`d say a sharp punching counter-puncher..who can punch.
What did Danny Williams do very well against Tyson??
Punched sharply and very hard..on the counter.
What is Danny Williams worst type opponent?
An intimidating guy who will make him fight for the full 3 mins of each round.
What does Matt Skelton do in his fights?
Makes it a rough affair for the other guy for the full 3mins.
Should be an interesting affair.

It's hard to discredit Skelton, he is a likeable level headed guy who is getting the job done but fornicate me what a mess of a fight...how can that class for Boxing? I agree with the other poster who said when he put his shots together he looked okay but the guy is so raw. Moli was a fat bloater as i expected who was basically mauled out of the fight, good old WBU with another high quality prestigious world class match up...christ almighty doesn't it just sum up the pathetic alphabet titles? If that was a world title fight then i can easily get a few more contenders from my local pub...i've seen more of the noble art on the car park at kicking out time
Well done to Skelton though...would love to see him ignore Mr. Allegedly and keep the British title and move onto challenging Krasniqi for the Euro crown but let's be realistic he is going to drop the British like a ton of bricks and will be defending his new bauble against a line up of stiffs.
Interviewer: "Will the fight with Danny Williams be made?"
Allegedly: "Yes definately....oooh...when the money's sorted out"
So that's a no then?

Skelton hasn't improved in his last few fights, I still can't see him beating either Williams or Harrison, he would have his moments against both, in the first few rounds.
I'd pick Williams to stop him in 6-7 rounds, and Harrison to stop him in 9-10 rounds. Skelton has done everything asked of him so far, but hasn't had a class heavy test his chin yet, and i don't think he has a world class punch on him, he stopped Sprott more through pressure than any single shot, and Sprott hasn't got the strongest chin in the world. The Long result looks ok i'll give that.
IMO Harrison would have a good night against Skelton, he'd make him eat his jab all night long , Harrison has fast hands and would catch Skelton lumbering in.

Agree on Williams although i sense Matt might last the distance, however based on Audley Harrison's performances so far i cannot see him keeping up with the immense pace and workrate set by Skelton...Skelton is crude but Harrison fights strictly at his own pace and i doubt he has the stamina to keep up with Skelton, i go for Skelton to beat Harrison if they fought anytime soon.

I've heard from a rock solid source that the fight will take place soon, although Audrey is demanding the fight takes place in a women's prison (block H, broken hand dept.)steve689 wrote:Agree on Williams although i sense Matt might last the distance, however based on Audley Harrison's performances so far i cannot see him keeping up with the immense pace and workrate set by Skelton...Skelton is crude but Harrison fights strictly at his own pace and i doubt he has the stamina to keep up with Skelton, i go for Skelton to beat Harrison if they fought anytime soon.
Harrison will fight 3 american journeyman this year. I doubt he will move on any further than that by this time 2006.
Williams has his head in the clouds, and is trying (fair enough I suppose) to milk the limelight and the bank manager for a Tyson rematch. It won't happen.
Skelton will have a tough job to find a credible opponent any time soon going by WBU standards. This means as well he's not going to jump up any WBC rankings etc. soon either.
Moli will be appearing in pantomime as an obese beanstalk that falls to the canvas, suffocating Jack in the 6th.

i would like to see skelton in with oleg maskeav didnt bother watching the fight last nite - if i want to watch wrestling i tune in to wwf. But credit where credits due he's 36 and with limited ability he's undefeated in 16 and cud even break in to world class. I mean its not hard to imagine skelton outworking and outstrengthing a few "world rated guys" eg. davaryll williamson or maskeav.
Maskaev would hand him his arse he's just not good enough for that level.
I thought for a while he might beat Williams but to be honest I really dont think so now. The first big guy he fights that can box a bit he is going to get schooled and beaten up. He's done well so far but he is just so devoid of skill! Those overarm looping right hands arrive about 3 months after he throws them the likes of Williams or Harrison will just counter him to pieces when he throws those sort of shots.
He should keep the British and Commonwealth and bin that WBU shite.

Just watched it on the replay and it was the same old Skelton. How on earth he gets away with some of the stuff he pulls in the ring is beyond me.
Holding and hitting, in particular the holding around the back of the head and using the uppercut. Pushing the open part of his glove into the opponents face. Very liberal use of the head. Hitting on the back of the napper - The list goes on and on - He would get kicked out of any fight outside the UK.
Despite my reservations about his style, ye can't fault his desire, and that will be enough to beat quite a lot of heavys at this time.

Apart from the last 30 seconds that fight was a joke.
Skelton is very effective which just goes to show how bad heavyweight boxing is at the moment. Moli was holding constantly after the first onslaught and exhausted from round three onwards.
When Skelton actually opened up the fight was over. I can't believe Sky continue to show this shit, but with Warren as their only signed promoter I suppose the have to. I just wish that they would show their boxing later on, so that I'm not tempted to watch it. Showing it after the second division football, wrestling and super league isn't good enough. It should be after the Gillette world of bobsleighing and the womens table tennis.
It's an insult to promoters up and down the country that they only show these Mickey Mouse matches.
Fair play to allegedly, he's the only bloke who gets away with shafting Rupert Murdoch every Friday night (BTW Fight Skool back in March)
OK, sorry...rant over (until Calzaghe TKO1 Magee)
