As of today, July 18, 9:00 p.m. (United States Pacific time), the total bouts in the BoxRec database are: 1,435,505. That's an increase of 19,496 in two months.

As of Sept. 2, there were 1,405,305 bouts in the system; each bout is given a unique ID so we have gaps due to deletions of scheduled non-events / duplicates, etc. (There current bout ID number, as of Sept. 5, 8:07 p.m. Pacific Time, is 1,450,980.)

Yes, it certainly inspired me to request a statistics page:

I'd like to know, for instance, how many fights in the database ended in a win/loss, draw, or NC/ND and how many of the wins/losses were UDs, MDs, SDs, TDs, (T)KOs, RTDs, or DQs. How many fights ended in a certain round and with a certain result (e.g. first round KOs)? How many NWSs are recorded? The number of fights per year could be shown, or the total number of fights held in a country, region, city/town, or venue. Of course, not only the total numbers but also percentages would be of interest and graphic illustrations welcome.

Here are all years, courtesy of JohnShep, and current as of early this morning, USA Pacific Standard Time. (And, also as of today, there are a bit fewer than 1,485,000 bouts in the database--considering duplicates and those deleted. 1485462 is the number assigned to the last bout entered into the database a little while ago.)

BoxRec Editors enter into the database around 2,000-plus "new" bouts every week of the year, as mentioned here.

We are hitting 1.5 million bouts entered into the BoxRec database this weekend!! But note: "1500000" is the numeric number of the soon-to-be entered 1.5m bout. The actual number of bouts in the database is a bit less--after deleting duplicates, scheduled bouts that did not occur, and pre-Queensbury bouts that were entered but have since been deleted, and so forth. But the point is: BoxRec will have 1.5m bouts in its database any day now this year.

I don't have the exact number, as of Dec. 31, but as of today the latest Bout # is 1,567,554. But, because of duplicates or erroneous bouts that have been deleted from the database, as well as scheduled bouts that were assigned a bout number but never occurred, the true number of bouts in the database is a bit less.

With that in mind, as of today, there are exactly 1,505,358 bout results in the database. I suspect that, as of Dec. 31, there were 1,505,000 (minus a couple hundred) bouts.
