He's had 3 fights in last 2 years... 2 of which were losses and 1 win against a journeyman.

He needs Friday fight night, not Sky PPV undercards in empty arena's.

Maloney, Hennessy or Hatton could use him as they all have lightweights in their stable needing a fight.

I'd also add that Warren has now covered his Scottish demographic with Paul Appleby.

Big coincidence dont you think?

Im sure Warren is in floods of tears, struggling to come to terms with such a loss! COME OFF IT he wont care.

But one person who did make a mistake leaving Warren was Gavin Rees. Now he cant get any tele coverage at all and is fighting in Welsh leisure centres. LMAO!

Arthur didn't lose to a journeyman. Nigel Wright is a british title contender a whole weight division above Arthur.

Should have left Warren donkeys years ago...too late now to start re-building.

Funny thing is he fought in more Welsh leisure centres when he was with Warren than he does now. He's only fought once in "a welsh leisure centre" since the split. Of Jamie Moores last 14 fights, 11 have been in leisure centres... where do you expect these guys to be fighting?

Of Gavins last 7 fights 6 have been on TV.

His problem has not been coverage, but actually getting fights at all after leaving Warren, even taking into account his 12 months off after kotelnik. Prizefighter may re-kindle something, will hatton work with Enzo Calzaghe - I'd think so.

Arthur destroyed by Gomez ruined him. He was getting franks warren treatment before that fight and became too cocky. Gomez battered him in one of the best fight I have seen. However, arthur should have beat gomes but just got too cocky and overconfidant and not work on his defence enough. shame. however, i didnt like him because of cocky

Yea your right there are Plenty of Domestic fights out there
hes still a fighter with a lot of ability and very heavy handed.

Needs to get his head sorted and a routine in place of fighting regular.

But lets be fair here, who leaves their promoter 'because their friend fell out with the boss'. Thats school boy stuff. Id love to see Calzaghe get a title fight for rees like he said he would. Not in a million years.

What ruined Arthur was his crazy weight-making. He last boxed at light-welterweight and looked sick.

Warren has signed Appleby and also has Simpson and Burns.

I could see John Murray v Alex Arthur happening late 2010, early 2011 and I agree that after some warm up fights he has to target the likes of McAllister (would be a big ticket seller in Scotland) and Gavin Rees.

i think his bizarre attitude (unjustified sense of entitlement, wannabe posturing for cameras when Gomez had him out on his feet etc) did him just as much of a disservice as the weightmaking.

Agreed there too!! - that fight and Arthur's reaction was unbelievable!!!

I am sure Alex Arthur went pro with Maloney and Panix Promotions - remember seeing some of his earlier fights and thought he could really make it - however the hype went to his head and the constant change of trainers must have also been a factor in his demise.

yeah that was the night when he was really exposed.

he'd looked a solid prospect before that.

one of the best british fights of all time.

named it my british fight of the decade in the end of decade posts we did. :OhYes:

rebuilt fairly well at euro level.

but the last few fights have really lacked the hunger. :-?

No disrespect, but isn't Murray looking to go for the European or a World Title? Arthur does not hold a title, so I see it as a backward step for John, who would have too much for Arthur at this stage!

Someone said Alex had an illness, can anyone give more details of this? I like Arthur, but whoever signs him up, it really will be his last shot at making some noise!

not a chance in my book, murray will be looking for a world title fight later this year/early nexy year. arthur is at the bottom of the domestic level food chain imo

So Alex Arthur was "ruined" after the Gomez fight..... even though he went on to beat fighters better than Gomez - like Gulayovich and Sinistin.... aswell as other very good fighters like Gogoladzse, Burns, Docherty, Foster Jnr.

Can't fighters now learn from defeats? :witzend:

are you on another planet? with out warren athur would never have got the world title that he barely deserved. he didn't turn up against nicky cook when losing the title, and since then has gone from bad to worse.

the guy has lost interest in the sport, and the display he put on against nigel, with all due respect to nigel, was lacklustre and pathetic at best. this is a guy who was a world champ of a very competitive division, and literally just did not want to know against nigel.
