Sensational round that, Morris did well early on but got caught a lot in the second half. I'll bottle out 10-10.

Round 11

Cracking fight.

Both throwing, Sykes having more success in the last 30 secs. Morris with the quality for the majority.

10-9 Morris

This is a fantastic match..... appologies to Morris for writing him off..... not sure if he's won it but I was premature there.

Last to Morris.

I've got it 116-114 Sykes, but couldn't argue the other way. Fight of the year so far.

Round 12:Great round again - such heart from Sykes throwing everything he's got. Getting caught but getting through with some combos from a now southpaw stance. Couldn't split them in that round.

I've got it Morris 115-114 but can't argue either way.

Fair play to Sykes, I thought Morris was the better boxer/better defense but Sykes had more desire. He took it on workrate and aggression.

Actually dissapointed it wasn't a draw. Neither deserved to lose that.... a UD actually sounds bad on Morris.

I stopped scoring the fight, to engrossed in it.

I think Sykes looked like he was doing more because of his workrate, but the quality seemed to be from Morris.

How far do you all think Sykes can go?

I think British is his level.

He hasn't got a jab, and gets hit far too much. Once he faces a puncher he'll drop.

He surprised me actually, because he seemed to box the completely wrong fight but just got through on guts

I'd be inclined to agree, good fight they brought the best out of each other - but I think he would lose at European Level. Although it would be not a bad fight with Leva..... he has a better chin than Lawton. But I would expect Leva to win well.

Sykes is ok and has a busy workrate.
But his jab didn't do too much for me and many of his punches were wild and thrown with abandon, his power didn't strike me as eyecatching at all and he rarely troubled Morris in that department all evening.
It was clear late in the fight he [Sykes] can't take it to the body very well which is sure to give future opponents the heads up.
He is one of those entertaining fighters people like because they know the chances of seeing him in a decent scrap for however long it lasts is almost a certainty.
Morris took his foot off the gas ever so slightly at times and wasn't as aggressive as he should have been, still his punches were way cleaner and his body of work overall was tidier and much more proffessional.
I had 8-4 or 7-5 for Morris due to a close 5th round, some may have seen it closer who knows.
