Barry Deskins long ago e-mailed his AUGUSTA CHRONICLE newspaper results, which I have been gradually entering into the BoxRec database. I've come one discrepancy:
Barry has Stribling KO-2 Sailor Tom Maxted @ Jacksonville, FL, Feb. 7, 1928. BoxRec has it as Feb. 13. BoxRec has Stribling vs. Marine Tolliver Feb. 6 - one day before Barry's Maxted bout.

the Sailor Tom Maxted is listed in Ring Record Books as taking place on Feb. 13, which is incorrect. The Marine Tolliver bout I'm not sure about, it came from March 1928 Ring Magazine that I will look back through to see if the date was listed in the issue. It's listed Feb. 6 in Ring Record books.

I entered Stribling's record into the database from the CBZ record before I had done any other research, but if I entered it as 12 rounds instead of 10 I goofed. The Augusta Chronicle listed the result as 10 rounds, but some Ohio cities had 12 round main events a few years earlier (mainly Akron comes to mind).
