Create a fight card

Post by Marlin »

JCS did this a while ago and I am bored so thought I'd have a go with it here...

Basically you have to create an Aussie fight card, but there are some rules. You have a budget of 2000 BoxRec points (if you look at ratings you will see that each fighter has a certain number of points), you can only use fighters that are active according to BoxRec and you must have 5 fights on your card.

Have fun fella's.

Mate I don't think you read the rules, you have to check the ratings for the fighters points, three of the fighters you picked are ineligible and even so the remaining fighters push you over the 2000 point limit (2216)...

Surely you underestimate him. Surely he would KTFO anyone up to CW. Perhaps he might have to settle for a UD against the heavy, but anyone else no problem.

Somewhat redundant after Ben K's, I noticed he's chosen two fights I would definitely go for:

To be held in Perth:

Danny Green (577) vs Anthony Mundine (696) @ Light Heavyweight - 12 rounds - The long awaited rematch, Green is far better at the higher weight and Mundine should benefit from not having to drain.

Adam Forsyth (127) vs Daniel Ammann (113) @ Cruiserweight - 10 rounds - I can't pick a winner, should be a great fight.

Robbie Bryant (66) vs Frank Lo Porto (103) @ Light Middleweight - 8 rounds - Their first fight was a cracker, Bryant should be keen to even the score.
Mark de Mori (95) vs John Hopoate (65) @ Heavyweight - 8 rounds - Whoever loses is pretty much finished, but should be fun while it lasts.

Andrew Green (36) vs Joel Casey (82) @ 185lb Catchweight - The fight with the lowest points is possibly the one I find most exciting. This fight was originally sceduled, before David Letizia stepped in for Andy Green and was knocked out by Casey in 2 rounds. Green has the talent to go all the way, but is inactive. Does he have the strength to prevail against a tough nut like Casey? (I like to think so)

1960 points all up.

Anthony Mundine v Sakio Bika (1404) @ S.Middle (167) 12 Rounds
Main fight of the night sees 34yr old Mundine (38-3) fight 30yr old Bika (28-3) at 167lbs which could swing the odds in favour of Sakio. Mundine hasn't scored a KO win in his last eight bouts while Bika has been brutal with his last four wins all by KO including a 3rd round victory over Peter Manfredo Jr.

Mark de Mori v John Hopoate (160) @ Heavyweight (200+) 12 Rounds
Explosive main undercard bout features the powerful Mark de Mori (16-1) clash with the inconsistant Hopoate (12-4). On his day Hopoate may have de Mori's measure but an early KO by either guy wouldn't surprise.

Willie Kickett v Heath Ellis (165) @ Welter (147) 10 Rounds
The smaller Kickett (15-2) has the edge in experience but would be disadvantage at welterweight against the 21yr old Ellis (12-1) who has champion potential in spades. Whether Ellis is seasoned enough to deal with Kickett's talent is the question.

Fred Mundraby v Daniel Iannazzo (120) @ S.Bant (122) 10 Rounds
Two young defeated fighters with big futures. Mundraby (9-0), the current Australian Bantamweight champ, will give away size and experience to Iannazzo (16-0) but he possesses the raw talent to defeat the current WBO Asian Pacific champion.

Joel Brunker v Greg Eadie (144) @ S.Feather (130) 8 Rounds
Two undefeated Australian champions go at it to open the card. Super featherweight champ Eadie (8-0) won't hold any weight advantage over Featherweight champ Brunker (12-0) who has fought at lightweight.
