Wlad Klitschko vs Eddie ... £9.95

Post by whiskey »

Whilst at least im glad to have the opportunity to buy this 8pm show if i wanted to, Im just interested on who is going to pay a tenner for it?

If not, what do you think the main reason is ? Wlad or the price?

For me its a bit of both. I will prob end up buying it, i always do. Like a moth to a flame.

Seems a bit high to me, I would have preferred if they had done a package deal for all the upcoming fights they have scheduled.

9.95 for a fight with no British fighter, are they showing any undercard (which is 1 fight on boxrec at the min)

Agree that if it would have been part of a package with the other fights I would have got it, but on its own for a tenner just not worth it

If it came with decent presentational output - ie an interactive Bunce studio set up - then I will buy it.

If it is a straight lift from german TV then no.

Is this Sky ???? Or an online broadcast?

If it's SKY it's ridiculous and an onimous sign for the future. Maybe they're aiming to build up Wlad -Haye

I'll probably end up buying it on the small chance FastEddie will pull off a shock. I like Chambers, I have been bigging him up as the saviour of American Heavyweight boxing

That's surprising. And an ominous sign for boxing fans. Are Sky aiming to make all 'world' title fights PPV??????

Sky are disgusting - you have to get a sports package to view boxing (I think £29.99 per month) then they televise crap shows; and you have to PAY EXTRA to view the half decent ones.....It's like they're taking the piss because they can, and have no competition.

I fvcking hate SKY TV now - they used to be great as they showed a lot of boxingthat we wouldn't normally see; but now they disgust me. They have a monopoly on Sport of any qualityu and it's not healthy.

I don't think Primetime are a Sky company. But, last year this fight would have been on Sky Sports with no extra charge. In fairness to Sky they show all the big American superfights without charging Box Office fees for them.

It is a little steep and the timing isn't great with Haye-Ruiz also on Sky PPV a fortnight later. The majority will save their cash and pay for Haye-Ruiz.

I would've got this if it were a fiver. I would like to support primetime or any company that is offering us access to more fights, but I just can't justify £10 for a Klitschko mandatory that is likley to be a one sided beat down.

Sorry, you're right - they're an independent. But my comments about SKY still stand. They show rubbish for the normal subscription then charghe for any half decent fight...

Yeah, like Pacquaio v Clottey, eh? :OhYes:

But seriously, it's a very, very high price for a Klitschko fight. The last two Klit fights have been dull to say the least with abysmal undercards, and while they are both good boxers, they are not exactly what I'd want to pay for. It's nice to have the option of whether to buy it or not, but not for me thanks-maybe at half the price.

not gonna buy it at that price.

i would have done at £5.99.

dodgy feed it is then.

it's an average fight.

chambers can't punch and he won't win a skills match.

really predictable fight then.

if i dont buy it , the main reason will be the price. think that a tenner is a bit steep. also to do with the fact haye - ruiz and froch kessler are both coming up soon. primetime are showing 3 events in the space of a month (the vlad fight , abraham - dirrell and froch - kessler + green - ward on the same night. i will propably buy one of either the vlad fight or the abraham - dirrell one. depends on the undercards which i dont expect to be great for either. more likely to buy the abraham fight if its cheaper even though its in the middle of the night. its a pity the abraham fight was moved as we would have got the vic darchinyan - rodrigo guerrero fight if the fight had stayed on the original date. if primetime had done some sort of offer like a 3 for 2 price or some promotion i would be more inclined to buy the events. but with 4 events coming in the next month i think a couple of the primetime events are going to suffer badly and lose out on people buying them. and this is coming from someone who got both the previous primetime events without any problems. people who had problems will be less inclined to buy any primetime fight apart from the froch fight (if even that). primetime should be doing all they can to get as much viewers as possible for froch kessler as that is their big massive event.

I would like to know how primetime are covering this. I hope they will showcase some other fights in this bill - as the undercard looks empty at the moment.

If anyone at primetime is reading this..... there is a EBU title fight in France on the same day involving a brit..... can you show this also.
