Post by KOJOE90 »

Greg Page the one time WBA Heavyweight Champion has been hospitalized with pneumonia and various complications.

The 46-year-old former fighter was admitted to the Jewish Hospital last Sunday the 20th of February and then transferred to the intensive care unit on Thursday,

The hospital has stated "Page remained in the ICU on Saturday in fair condition"

Page spent three months at Jewish Hospital after a 2001 after a losing fight against Dale Crowe and continues to undergo rehabilitation at the facility.

His wife, Patricia Page, has asked the public to pray for her husband and honor their privacy.

Mrs Page said "Greg has been through a lot over the years and managed to overcome many obstacles''.

I am sure I am not the only one who wishes this talented Boxer a speedy recovery.

Damn.. Ive spoke with Greg several times and found him to be witty & friendly fella. His physical condtion is very bad & makes him susceptible to this kind of thing. I hope he can get fitter & stronger so he can start to improve & recover.

How did you manage to speak to him, have you met him?. I really hope he gets better soon but this looks worrying. Greg was one of the best Heavies in the 80s and another who never really fulfilled his true potential sadly, which I'm sure had a lot to do with how he was treated by King!.

I am sad to pass on the news that Greg Page's condition has worsened slightly since he was admitted into hospital last week with pneumonia and various complications.

Page was in serious condition in Jewish Hospital's intensive care unit Monday morning, said Julie Ice, spokeswoman for the hospital. Mr Greg Page, was in fair condition since he was transferred to the ICU on Thursday. Ice said called the development a ``slight downgrade'' in his condition.

His wife, Patricia Love-Page, said in a interview Monday morning that Page was "resting comfortably".

UPDATE

A quote from yesterday, the former Champ seems to be slowly getting better, which is of course great news. :TU:

Patricia Love-Page - "I am happy to say Greg is making progress, Since he was removed from the ventilator last week, he has been in good spirits. He remains focused on getting better.''
