Bravo+1 now (12pm)

Post by Shirow »

The Bravo Benn Boxing Channel (+1) is just showing Benn v Galvano but it's followed by Steve Robinson's fairytale championship win.

Good chance to get it in your collection if you don't have it.

DOH!!!

Only managed to catch the last three rounds of Robinson V Davidson. I have not seen that fight since it actually happened and had fogotten how the Welsh fighter nearly won on a stoppage in the final round.

I seem to recall reading that Robinson claimed that halfway through the fight an old calf injury re-surfaced which meant his mobility was restricted and forced him to go toe to toe more.

The scores were very close, anyone know why there was never a rematch?

Did anyone see the Benn/Sanderline Williams clash on Bravo?

On the show also was herbie hide vs some canadian journeyman who the commentator had bigged up as a 'class act' and after the demolition praising herbie, saying 'We may be looking at the greatest British heavyweight of all time' ????!!!!! :o :o and drooling over a 'spectacular' 'World' (WBC international title) defence while Herbie leapt onto the ropes, fake title held aloft, with Norwich going berserk.

Truly vomit inducing.

It does sound like the Herbie Hide V Conroy Nelson fight.

yeah, that was it.

It mystified me how everyone there could possibly be so enthralled by such a routine win for such a shitty 'title'.

i mean obviously it happens all the time in this country, but this was one of the most extreme examples I have seen.

Funniest thing of that fight was Bremmer saying that Hide has shown his chin is sound, not one of his best moments.

Herbie Hide does have a good chin, the man is emotionally fucked though...

He took some truely massive right hands from Bowe and didn't stagger at all, and then fell to weak jabs.
