I also said matthew macklin would be beat by pirog which i still stand by..... i shouldnt of brought up nationalitys when i discuss boxing and i apoligise for that but the guys on that thread including yourself are incredibly biased towards certain boxers you have to admit.ESB irish thread is great for irish information but i wouldnt discuss irish boxers with irish boxing fans on that thread.

I wouldn't accept that they are biased at all - I would say that 80% the posters on the Irish thread on ESB said that Cordoba would stop Dunne and there wasn't anyone that gave Dunne more than a 50/50 chance and I doubt if anyone ever said Dunne was in the top 3 or even 5 SBW in the world - they aren't biased about Dunne - they are balanced towards Dunne.

Yes, you said Pirog would beat Macklin - no one had a problem with that. Pirog looks pretty good but is untested with real quality and if you think think he would beat Macklin then fair enough, I disagree but like I said no one had a problem with that.

The straw that broke the camel back (after months of bs from you) was that you whole heartedly agreed with Conlan's assessment of Dunne's career. Conlan, who doesn't know his arse from his elbow with regards boxing, made a litany of factual errors - like saying that Dunne was down twice against Vorinon when he wasn't even down once, to his utterly bogus opinions e.g. the European title was the Intertoto of boxing etc. If anyone agreed with Conlan's article they are either an idiot or a troll - you choose!

For anyone that never seen the article I am referring to here is the link. This was published the week of Dunne's retirement and I genuinely have never read a more begrudging, nasty, scurrilous, ignorant article in all my days.

I never said anything and the rows break out...... fighting for both irish/british titles does cause confusion on nationalitys everyone on both sides have to admit.

I don't find it confusing at all, its a technicality exploited by some fighters to advance their careers. Good for them. Certainly doesn't make them British. If the rules say its ok...

Thats the way i see it too, everyone knows its good to be irish in the boxing buisness and fighting for a british title will get you on sky and that means your into at least a couple million viewers livingrooms in the uk (great exposure). Its just sometimes when you see a fight call himself irish after one fight then call himself english in another fighter i lose a little bit of repect for them.... Nothing wrong with being british i have froch only 2nd to abraham to win the super 6 so dont get this rant twisted.

I've never heard Macklin say this. He calls Brum home but says he is Irish - I have never heard him say he was English or British.

On that issue - I couldn't really give a flying Seany McBride if a fighter is Irish, English or Namibian - however, if a fighter states that he is one nationality then that should be respected. If a French Moroccan says he is Moroccan not French then thats cools with me - if a fella from East Belfast says he is British not Irish that is cool with me but also if a fella born in Glasgow, Manchester, London or Armagh says he is Irish and not British then that should equally be respected. Its not hard really is it!

There was a fella who was born in Paris but his parents were Algerian.
He grew up in an area with a huge Algerian population and spent most of his school holidays in Algeria with cousins.
He actually spent so much time there that he excelled an extremely difficult native Alegerian field sport and actually represented his father's home town in the sport at a very high level, meaning he flew over and back to play right up to the age of 21.
He possessed an Algerian passport.
When he started to box profesionally, it would have been career suicide to ignore the huge French and Parisian market so he conveniently enjoyed the best of both worlds, boxing for a French title but showing up on Algerian TV, fighting in Algeria and carrying the Algerian flag around after fights sometimes.
Of course, he wasn't allowed to call himself Algerian; a few internet legends decided he was French.

It's ridiculous for me to say I'm Irish, because I'm not. You don't choose which nationality you are. I completely disagree with your viewpoint.
