In WH Smith I saw Boxing Monthly & The ring Magazine.........which out of experience is the better mag to get (better read)?

The Ring is like Colin Hart. Reliant on former glories and behind the times.

Boxing Monthly is a cracking read.

The Ring is usually about 5 months behind everyone else.

Whilst it's features are often interesting, by the time it hits the shelves it's not as relevant as the British mags.

Surely there are other American mags other than the Ring ?

The thing I don't like about The Ring these days is that they have a more British tailored issue printed as well, personally if I buy a U.S magazine, I want their perspective on ours and their fighters, not a lot of the writing being done by a UK based reporter.

Monthly is better, clearly.

Boxing News is the best though. By a long way. :TU:

Used to buy it from WH Smiths on the day they got it in, even with buying it on the day of release over here it had previews for fights in that had taken place a month previously. Its a decent read but it totally being out of date is very off putting.

I get Boxing News most weeks now. Good fight previews ang good interesting articles alongside.

Agree with everyone, Boxing Monthly is better by far. I nip into WH Smith to read The Ring every now and again though.

But yeah, BN is better than both of them, IMO.

Please don't tell me you're one of those fuckers who stands in there reading the magazines? :witzend:

I thought it was only women with their gossip rags and age 50+ men with their classic car magazines who did that

Boxing Monthly! I like the rankings section at the back, which I often refer to when watching Friday Fight Night for example.
