None of us would even know about this if it wasnt for Gomez trawling the internet(again) looking for stuff to make the people who Froch dislikes look bad.To be honest,i bet Joe doent even buy the Primetime bill.Ive never had him down as much as a fan of the sport

I never said he had. I'm saying Calzaghe misses it and he gets press attention by slagging Carl. I was thinking more of him calling Froch a bitch than this latest news.

So let's get this right. To follow your logic, he gets this attention by leaking things through a third source into a little known website called lionheart-boxing.dk, which prints the story in Danish. And he would do this, rather than phone up one of the many national sportswriters he undoubtedly knows very well and would be only too happy to publish any old story about him.

On reflection I'm probably talking shite. I just think that having been a fan of Calzaghe's I don't think he does himself any favours with the way he slags Froch off. Froch should be allowed to build his own career now tha Calzaghe's retired. I'm not a fan of trash talk but understand it being used to build a fight, which clearly isn't the case here. Froch was disappointed not to fight Joe and has now put himself into arguably the best thing to happen in boxing for years, the Super Six. He deserves credit IMO.

I reckon this story is bollocks. It's just some rubbish placed by someone in the Kessler team on a friendly website, with the hope that it gets back to Froch and gets into his head because they know he is obsessed with Calzaghe.

Of course, Gomez is doing that job nicely on behalf of Kessler.

It's just like that old Steve Collins-hypnotist trick with Eubank.

No he won't because Calzaghe beat Kessler first. How on earth do you believe that he will be able to take the piss out of Calzaghe?
Calzaghe topped the bill in Vegas and Madison Square Garden, boxed in front of 51,000 in Cardiff won every version of the world title, retired unbeaten and earned millions of pounds. Froch is boxing on Primetime in a town no one had ever heard of. Froch is also now in his prime, whereas Calzaghe is nearly 39. He is also getting Kessler off a bad defeat, which while not Froch's fault, would someone lessen the impact of his win.
Your version of reality is very odd.
Haha good man you saved me having to reply. I'm with you all the way.

Why would Calzaghe of dreamed of fighting Froch when he was fighting the number 2 68 in the world in front of tens of thousand in the Millenium Stadium or Hopkins in Las Vegas at 175 or RJJ at Madison Square Garden. Those fights likely made Calzaghe 80+% of the money he made from Boxing. He had a great career and people should remember him as the Best British fighter of the last 20 years and one of the best ever.

Give over, his last two opponents had him sprawled out on the deck - with a combined age of 84.

And why didnt he face Froch when he roped in that dodgy Evans Ashira from his day job serving in a bar in Denmark? some world title defence that was, against a guy capitulated in 2 rounds a few months earlier.

His 4th from last opponent was Peter Manfredo jr !

Froch won his title in front of millions against unbeaten Pascal, wheras Calzaghe won his WBOgus title on the undercard of a Naz fight against a shot Eubank. Froch made his first defence in front of millions on showtime against Jermain Taylor... Calzaghe fought Bronco Sobot in front of his next door neighbours.

"Best british fighter of the last 20 years" .... Lennox fought 3 times at Madison square garden, 5 times in Las Vegas, 5 times at the Atlantic city boardwalk, every top venue in Britain and even out in Africa.

Kessler's basics are alone to KO Froch. His wirey style with no defence is getting exposed the more fights at world level

Accidental forearm from Jones did not have him hurt. Hopkins landed a clean shot but it wouldn't of been a KD without Huggy bear going to hold him afterwards. He was not hurt and went down because of recklessness. Huggy Bear Hopkins would beat Froch easy.

Froch was stunned by a shot Reid and dominated by glass jawed Taylor who's confidence was effected since the Pavlik fights. Got a lucky decision over Direll too.

Froch only got up the rankings because he was mouthy, before Pascal, he only fought domestic and lower level euro opponents. Got a contriversial stoppage over an under prepared Tatesvosyan who was coming off a beating from Bute less than 2 months earlier. Why fight a guy who wouldn't go above domestic level? He was offered a Calzaghe fight and turned it down and waited for Joe to vacate. He would of got the Lacy treatment because he doesn't know what defence is and is weak to workrate.

I think many people would have more respect for Froch if he hadn't slagged Calzaghe off at every opportunity he had. I personally would. He doesn't come off to well on occassion, he sounds very arrogant.

I think the Calzaghe Froch is the British version of De La Hoya Vargas. Only in this case Froch couldn't build himself up enough to get Joe to fight him.

Good luck to him he's doing well for himself now. But he can't be compared to Calzaghe sadly we never got to see them fight but Joe's boxing I.Q would of made mince meat out of Froch who was far to open to contend with Joe.

I'd place Calzaghe at 1 then Lewis at 2. Lewis fought at those venue's more often because he was basically based in America so he'd be entitled to fight at those venue's more often.

Also worth noting is that the both fought at the Millenium Stadium. Lewis-Bruno was at the former Arms Park and Calzaghe-Kessler was at the revampted Millenium Stadium and Calzaghe-Kessler had a bigger attendance.

Froch v Kessler is going to be one hell of a fight. I cannot wait for it and will be paying Primetime to watch it.

I honestly believe it could be as good as Froch v Pascal and that was superb.

Joe looked more hurt by Jones than he did by Hopkins. Whilst upon replay it was more forearm than fist that had him down, he was really hurt by that shot. Fair play he threw leather after getting up, but he was definitely hurt. Against a hungry fighter in his prime, he may not have been let off the hook after that. There was a full minute left and Jones did nothing.

I'd answer the rest of your comments but it sadly decends into total nonsense. "Reid had Froch hurt" lol he got obliterated, i could really up a can of worms over Joe's fight with reid - you know the one many though he'd lost, just like the Hopkins one too.

He should have rematched both those guys when they demanded it - and the public demanded it, but he didn't.

I am a huge Calzaghe fan as well Max but honestly fella you talk a shit load of bollocks on here.

It is not inconceivable that Froch could give Calzaghe fits if they fought, in fact its probable.

For all the talk that Froch has looked poor in parts against Taylor and Dirrell the facts are that he has found ways to win against good fighters (something we laud JC for doing).

I think Froch deserves a lot of respect for the way he has gone about his business, the Super 6 being an example. However I think its also fair to say that he won a world title at an age much older than JC therefore had no choice really to go down that route.

I think Joe should leave this alone now, he chose his path and was very successful and did enough in his career to go down as a legend, wins over Lacy, Kessler, Eubank, Mitchell, Brewer, Reid, Woodhall, Hopkins and Jones are a good enough dance card for me - don't forget Jones was still a top 5 LH when they fought and many said he would win, only revisionism on here decided to deride that win. The Hopkins fight at the end of the day was a win against an all time great who then went on to piss all over a young fighter again who many on here said would win.

The Lacy and Kessler fights were fights where 50% of people on here at least said JC would lose, what happened was that in different ways Calzaghe won both fights easily.

Listen, for what its worth I reckon Calzaghe would beat Froch on points by about 5/6 rounds after maybe having to get off the deck. Its academic now though, they didn't fight, they won't fight and really everyone should just leave this alone now. Froch was culpable initially for slagging Joe off at every opportunity, howver Joe is equally a tit now for not letting it go after he has retired.

Let it go fellas

I`m not a big Calzaghe fan - I`d now consider myself a bigger fan of Carl Froch than I ever was of Calzaghe.

But

Whoever thinks Froch would come anywhere close to beating Calzaghe needs their eyes and boxing knowledge checked.
Since Froch has moved up in class his punch power and chin have seemed to diminish ...
Taylor was never a big hitter even at middle but had Froch down heavy .. Dirrel even on the back foot wobbled Froch .. And Pascal, Taylor and Dirrel were not too bothered by the Froch bombs .. except Taylor when he had gassed as usual.

Until Calzaghe decides to come back to the ring - all this who would win means very little :witzend:

I do see Froch v Kessler as a real 50/50 fight ... Kessler may be the better all round boxer but seems to be well on the slide(thats if you ever thought he was that good anyways?) where as Froch has total belief in himself at the moment so will probably get to Kessler when Kessler looks to take a breather .. but on the other hand Kessler hits harder than Taylor and will be more commited than Dirrel ... so real 50/50 :TU:

Is Calzaghe meant to be showing "loyalty" to Froch or something?

When Calzaghe fought Kessler and Lacy, Froch told everyone they would knock Calzaghe cold. And when Lennox Lewis offered advice to Corrie Sanders on how to beat Wladimir Klitschko, was he being a complete dog?

And is this really true? You don't think this could actually be someone trying to kick up a bit of interest in the fight, do you? Neither is he quoted. Joe's so lazy, can you really see him going to Denmark or Berlin to help Kessler? It's difficult enough to get him out of South Wales.

I'm amazed you spend so long trying to slag Calzaghe off, Gomez? It just makes Froch still appear awfully bitter.
And what if Lennox announced that he was going to give Ruiz tips on how to beat haye? Do you see the common denominator or do I need to spell it out.

Calzaghe is retired. He wouldn't fight Froch and now that Froch has shown balls that calzaghe wishes he had, Calzaghe is obviously getting a bit nervous. Kessler is his big win and if Froch goes over and does a job on kessler, he'll be able to take the piss out of Calzaghe for the rest of his life.
Kessler was unbeaten when calzaghe took him to school and in kesslers words very nearly stopped him with a body punch, the kessler that goes in with froch is now slightly damaged goods in my opinion.

kessler is a decent travelling fighter & been to everyones hometown mainly in europe,& had an injured shoulder against calzaghe & is meant to be in his prime now losing to rooky pro ward who looks good but aint no jones or toney lets face it.

sorry guy's im not saying he aint a very good fighter, but he's skated around on extremely thick ice his whole career :!:
had he went stateside when he fought a weight drained eubanks who had him gone in the dying 30 seconds he wouldnt be undefeated, no way could he of lived with jones, toney, even liles :!:

go through his record look at the yanks that were brought over as damaged goods, look at there fights before joe & they were all test driven in germany by the kohl brothers first :!:

big frank stated the ammount of fights jc pulled out from etc.
