Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
Peralta defeated Sosa, but then loses a 5-0 to Teran. Is Teran that good or did Peralta have an off night or was it a matter of styles. Pagan may have his hands full with Teran.

Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
First time posting here...I'm sure the results will be posted for the show in Freeport, Long Island soon...I was in attendance(I'm a member of the Freeport PAL)...
For those who are interested Marcus Browne (Cops N Kids) stopped De'Vaun Lee (Champion Breed) under a minute into the 1st round with a devastating right hook...
Lee tried to make it up but was badly hurt...Marcus Browne is back in the finals...
Marcus will be facing David Thompson of Brotherhood BC...(don't recall the name of whom Thompson beat)
Patrick Day (Freeport PAL) will face Idrissa "Skip" Kamara (Cops N Kids) in the 141-pound novice Final...I'm sure NYboxing will have the full details of all of the night's fights...
Lets go Patrick Day!

Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
Classic tough Golden Gloves tournament - National PAL champ Fred Samuels lost in the semi-finals of the NYGG.
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
I personally think Pagan is better than Teron and pagan has more exprience than him and will beat Teron he will fold under pressure
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
That's what you think that teron gonna beat Pagan I dont think so..........http://boxrec.com/forum/posting.php?mod ... &p=2345738#

Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
Did you notice the question about it? I have never seen Teran box so I can't say who I think will win. I was asking if Teran is that good and then making the statement tha Pagan MAY HAVE his hands full as Teran had beaten a quality opponent. I would like to hear from those in NY as to what they think.Grey Wolf wrote:That's what you think that teron gonna beat Pagan I dont think so..........http://boxrec.com/forum/posting.php?mod ... &p=2345738#

Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
saw terrons first fight of the tournament, he looked real sharp. pagan definitly has the speed and the experience advantage over terron. i havent seen the two of them standing next to each other but i know terron is pretty tall for 141, should be a good final but im going with pagan for the 5-peat
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQXKQj2Scfs terrons opening night fight, the kid he beat is fast and experienced... also has a win over sosa in the jr's
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
I watched the Teron video and the kid is good. He is tall with long arms. He uses his reach well and has fast hands. His defense isn't too bad either.
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
I think the NYGG fans are going to be in for a treat as I think the 141 Open bout between Teron and Pagan will be a good one. Enjoy the bout.
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
looks like samuels is good for the contriversial computer scoring. but when it comes down to the clickers hes just to defensive and cant make it to nationals. but we shall still see about the usa

Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
yeah carlos teron i remember him from the 07 ringside ..his brother also boxes and is a undefeated prospect jorge da truth teron. but like his older brother, carlos is a good a tall fighter who uses his reach pretty well and comes forward and pagan could have a bit a troulble with him.Dennis wrote:Peralta defeated Sosa, but then loses a 5-0 to Teran. Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
Yes, after watching the video of Teran, I think it will be a good bout between Pagan and Teran.
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
samuels is good but definitely to defensive. he also fought in the metros even though he won the pals. the metro being the qualifier for usa nationals, in which he loss in the semi's to the other heavyweight finals participant steve bujaj. who eventually loss in the finals to joseph williams. look out for my recent stable mate joseph williams or "mack" as we call him, very raw talent. last years novice 201+ winner is undefeated in 12 fights. has already beaten david thompson(twice),fredrick samuels and last years 201 champion steve bujaj. I wouldn't be suprised if he wins the nationals. james toney type fighter with viscous body head combos, solid defense, exceptional stamina. look out for him.
Re: 2010 New York Golden Gloves (83rd Annual)
Will do. He is already on my radar as are most 201's and some 178's and 201+'s.Unit wrote:samuels is good but definitely to defensive. he also fought in the metros even though he won the pals. the metro being the qualifier for usa nationals, in which he loss in the semi's to the other heavyweight finals participant steve bujaj. who eventually loss in the finals to joseph williams. look out for my recent stable mate joseph williams or "mack" as we call him, very raw talent. last years novice 201+ winner is undefeated in 12 fights. has already beaten david thompson(twice),fredrick samuels and last years 201 champion steve bujaj.
