I thought showtime had some kinda contract that ruin a fighter if he did this other than for long term injury/retirement?

Yeah, the only thing I've read is that he's injured and the fight has been rescheduled. Where has all the talk of him pulling out completely come from? I find that hard to imagine, personally.

Arum wouldn't put Pavlik in the tournament. He would have to probably face AA at some stage aswell.

If the injury's legit then fair enough, reschedule. If it's part of a calculated exit from the tournament then that's unforgivable.

Considering he's an olympic gold medallist, his progress in the pro ranks has been painfully slow until very recently, this tournament was the perfect way to make up for lost time. If it's down to money now that his stock's risen then that's understandable, from his point of view, from Goossen's, not from our's or the rest of the boxing world's.

I hope that's just cynicism. Taylor's exit was completely understandable, if Ward's next he'd be responsible for cheapening the best thing this sport's seen in a long time.

What i hinted was, Pavlik challenging Ward.

On another subject, this rescheduled date... there isn't one.

I heard May and 'possibly' June before he is 'fully recovered' which sounds like a crock of crap to me.

Its a shame if true, because Ward looked like the best fighter in the tournament.Only Abraham would have troubled him.But i suppose its down to money at the end of the day.A bout with Pavlik must be worth a lot more than anything coming up in the super six.

If he were to carry on with the S6 and win it, i am sure he would be getting bigger purses after that to defend the titles.

But there is a chance he looses his "0" on the way.
