Michael Jennings raring to go

Post by Lightsoot »

Am I the only one who thinks Jennings would give Kell Brook a very good argument if they finally get it on?

No, I agree 100%. Im liking what I see of brook. But Mike is a good level or two above anyone he's fought to date.

EDIT: bit of negativity form michael toward the Brook fight in the article?

I think Jennings would give Brook his hardest fight by far and give him a real chance of beating him, I do like the look of Brook though adding to that the fact Jennings isn't a youngster anymore (and because he's my favourite boxer to watch) I'd probably prefer he went down the British route, winning the Lonsdale outright will mean a lot more than the WBO intercontinental.

Cheers for the story been a bit quiet on the Jennings front lately :TU:

Good read, yeah.

Must be difficult psychologically to have competed at world level, yet taken such a one sided beating.

No disrespect to Jennings- his opponent was a great fighter.

Good interview Ben.

I wholly expected to have seen him fight more often than he has done to date.

At the very least on the Smith vs Dodson bill as he could have shifted 300+ tickets.

It's right, he does lack a bit of pop, but is a very nice boxer indeed.

Jennings would be the best opponent Brook would have faced. So undoubtedly a test of sorts. I just can only envisage an early Brook win. Would love Jennings to pull it off, just don't see him possesing the kind of skills to keep him off, and Jennings can get hurt.

You've always rated Jennings, Lightsoot, haven't you? Quite right, too.
I have, Macho. He’s a good all-rounder. Stylish, does the basics well, decent handspeed, plenty of bottle and well respected. I think Jennings made a decent point with regards to the fact that Brook isn’t that difficult to hit. Having said that, if and when they meet I still fancy Kell Brook to stop him late on. Would be a good fight though and if we’re talking levels I don’t think they’re a million miles apart. I don’t know if that’s a compliment to Jennings or a criticism of Brook!

Best wishes.
