Cameron v Hopoate

Post by belta53 »

What are peoples thoughts on this bout?

I think its going to be action packed.

I see Hopa coming out and trying to dismantle Cameron in the first 3 rounds with that big right hand of his (same punch that Tua took Cameron out with). If Cameron can weather this storm (and its a big if) then i can see him coming on over the top of Hopa and finishing off his career around the 5th round.

Id be concerned if Cameron couldnt get Hoppa out of there inside 3 rounds. My issues with Cameron are these...........how will be bounce back after the Tua defeat? Is his heart and head in it anymore? If Hoppa lands some hard clean shots early how will he holdup? Should be a decent little scrap while it lasts

Should be an easy night for Cameorn to be honest.
I've heard Hoppa is all but retired - already decided this will be his last fight, so the mentality going in has to be one of picking up a paycheck.
Pity, I reckon if Hoppa could land a real good right hand in the first couple of rounds he could finish it there.
As it is, Shane will try to stay away fo4rm him for a couple, then probably sit Hoppa on his ass in the 4th or 5th, Hoppa wont have a reason to get back up once he's down...

i saw shane sparing last week in melb he is looking very fit and commited and talking to him his head seemed to be in the right place. they were also doing alot of work on the pads to negate the big overhand right hoppa has. i think they will try to prove a point from what they were saying and go for a first round knockout

All Shane needs to do is to just jab away while avoiding Hoppa's wild swings for the first couple of rounds as Hoppa runs out of gumption.

Then Hoppa will be out of puff, ready for the coup de grace and a career in hot-dog hawking.

Funny - a lot of people said the same thing about the Tua fight
"Jab him till he runs out of energy then push him over etc..."
Not that there's any comparison between Hoppa and Tua - just saying Shane isn't exactly known for staying out of trouble behind his jab is all

Cameron is a differnet class than hoppa imo. That doesn't say much for Hoppa does it?

It's funny, Cameron was the talk of the town after he stopped Big Bob. He was all that, the great white hype.

Not sure about you, but id feel a little uneasy about being talked about as the talk of the town after beating Bob Mirovic........its a solid regional win but Cameron beat him at the end of his career and Bob was always only just a decent regional fighter............

In anycase who has Cameron REALLY beaten?? besides washed up yanks.........Hoppa is another example i bet we here Cameron is back comments after he beats Hoppa that would really show hown little some know.

Shane should win this with ease, dont get me wrong but if Hoppa catches Cameron on the chin, hes out, but i just dont see that happening tomoro night, i guess its a career in hot-dog hawking it is

It's a case of Hoppa landing on Camerons glass...but i can't see it happening. Cameron TKO6

No one will ever say Cameron is back, Cameron is regional at best, Hoppa is just kidding himself.

hoppa may not have beaten anyone too flash but niether has cameron.

i hope hoppa pulls off an upset cause the heavyweight scene is more interesting with hoppa being a part of it.

there was no heavyweight interest until haumono and hoppa arrived on the scene. doesn't mean that there is too much more talent but at least it is a little more exciting. otherwise we'd be witnessing mirovic vs wilson IX.

I read in last Sunday's paper that Team Green are considering Shane Cameron as an opponent, if Cameron can get down to 90kg's

Kind of hope that Hoppa grows a chin if he is to stick around.

Alright, I'm going to pick Hoppa, just so I can seem like a genius if he somehow pulls it off.

For the benefit of those of us overseas at the moment (and those without Foxtel), it would be appreciated if someone could do a round by round or even just a summary straight after the fight.

Thanks in advance.

'Hollywood' Dave Deike, former boxer and now Melbourne promoter just tried to put $500 on Hoppa to win by KO. I nearly took the bet and then thought better of it. I think that this, and the mixed tips on how the fight's going to end from the rest of the posters on this thread, shows that this is, perhaps, a better match than first seems. It'll probably end in KO. but who's hand is raised is the question on every body's lips.

By the way, I'm not an illegal fight bookie, I just like to have the occasional bet on the fights with mates.

gotta love hoppa's nickname. not a smart choice considering where he liked to put his fingers, or maybe he's just taking the piss outta himself, funny shit.
LETS GET IT ON!
