Question regarding female ratings

Post by moniek »

I was very surprised to see that the world's only 4 time world champions in women's boxing are not rated at all. Marischa Sjauw has a record of
20-5-1 (http://www.womenboxingrecords.com/sjauw.html) and Kathy Collins 14-2-3 (http://www.womenboxingrecords.com/collins.html) Both of them fought very good fighters and both of them are ranked number 1-2 or 3 at all other female rankings. I think I saw them before in your
rankings, but now I cannot find either one. Maybe something to take a
look at?

Only fighters that have fought in the past year appear in the BoxRec "rankings". Kathy Collins last fight was May 12, 2001. If and when she fights again, she will return to the rankings.

Regarding Sjauw, the last fight BoxRec had listed for her was June 16, 2001. We were missing her October 12, 2001 bout vs. Summer DeLeon.
I've just added the bout and when the ratings program runs tonight, she will return to 'active' status and most certainly will be ranked in the top 3.

Thanks for bringing the omission to light.

Regards,

Brett
