Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
http://news.boxrec.com/news/2010/burkin ... lockbuster
After going to his opponent's backyard twice and picking up belts, should he have a voluntary in front of his home fans?
Should he accommodate Napa straight away considering the closeness of that contest?
Or should he look to immediately push on into Europe?

Re: Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
I'd like him to fight Napa again, considering I and the majority of people had Napa winning the first encounter.

Should fight Napa, you say immediately push on into Europe Napa was European Champion so you it cant be said that Napa is a Step back, espectally considering there last fight.... Think it might be a differnet Fight next time tho as McDonnell's will be booming in confidence...

Why shouldnt Jamie have a defence that him and his manager/Promoter suggest.
One thing for certain - the next fight should be in Doncaster.

Well his Promoter will support him fighting Napa, Title stays within the Camp

Isn't Napa the mandatory and the fight already signed??
BANTAMWEIGHT JAMIE MCDONNELL (Holder) v IAN NAPA
Following agreement being reached between the parties the above contest to be promoted by Promoter Frank Maloney.

Re: Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
Fight Napa. Jamie will have come on leaps and bounds for the controversial win against Napa and the Arnould victory. His confidence must have soared. Napa is not going to have improved and in the last two rounds against Jamie looked an old fighter.
Re: Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
Its got to be Napa really..... I know people will want him to "grow" into the title a bit, but its not a step up as he beat (officially) Napa last time.... Napa, according to the majority, should have been fighting Arnould (and with home advantage I believe) - so it makes sense from every aspect.
He could think about Ballane, who Napa beat quite confortably, as he is heavily ranked by the WBC.... but really it ought to be Napa.

Re: Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
Napa. I was gobsmacked by the decision in the last fight. I had Napa winning by 4 rounds. So in my opinion, he should face Napa and maybe try and beat him clearly.
Re: Who should Jamie McDonnell fight next?
As he's going to have a well earned rest, I think in the meantime the BBoC should make Napa fight Davies again as there last fight was very close and then the winner would get a shot at Jamie and the British and Commonwealth.
Then defend the European against Malik Bouziane, although I see he is fighting for the Super Flyweight title so that might not happen. I'd even like to see if Haskins would step up a weight to fight him so he could avenge that tight loss.
People seem to think he owes Napa a rematch as it was disputable but if you look back at Jamies fights against Haskins and Edwards which were both losses (I personally thought he'd won the Haskins one and the Edwards one was tight enough to go either way), he never got the opportunity to avenge them and never moaned about this,he just got on with it.
Im sure his manager is Dennis Hobson, but according to Sky Sports its Frank Maloney again http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 75,00.html

Do you think Gary would beat Napa this time? Coming off of a good win against Bell.leeharding wrote:superb win in france i say fight davies but im bound 2 say that or napa davies for british then winner shot at jamie but atleast with davies and jamies style the fight wouldnt go 3 rounds i dont think be a really good match y it lasted but congrats to mc donnellGooner123 wrote:As he's going to have a well earned rest, I think in the meantime the BBoC should make Napa fight Davies again as there last fight was very close and then the winner would get a shot at Jamie and the British and Commonwealth.

yes 100 percent as without making excuses he was on one leg for the fight thats why u didnt see the usual aggressive style he has and he couldnt plant his power leg to really let his shots go, and he answered a lot of questions within himself that night and learned a hell of a lot!

Sorry mate, but this bit is kind of controdictory to the rest of your post.
I would like to see McDonell fight Booth, but that will not happen as Booth has options at S-Bantam.
If I was McDonell I would like to fight Napa straight away to prove I was better than him, but I got a funny feeling he might fight someone like Kris Hughes for the british, as I think he handles him comfortably, then take on Napa for all three titles once Napa gets a win under his belt.

onnestly i no he would gary in the napa fight wasnt able 2 do what he done against power, edmonds,or bell as his leg was severely bruesed and gary even said that himself in the interview after the bell fight im very confident that a 100pcent gary davies would wipe the floor with any bantamweight in britain and i also think he is the biggest puncher by far but im bound to say thatGooner123 wrote:Do you think Gary would beat Napa this time?
