I hate the whole autograph hunting thing .. :witzend:

Just can`t understand why anybody would want somebodies scribble  .. especially baffling why somebody would want to pay to have a scribble even more so ..

Totally understand having your photo taken with a said person. A memory of the time you met so&so .. but an autograph???

I`ll be honest here then. :TU:
Your interview was no better or no worse than the thousands of interviews that have been done on Tyson before. It gets so tedious hearing the same mythical questions posed .. as I`m sure Tyson has of answering them.

Tyson has aired his views and opinions regarding being taken advantage of and being basically ripped off since before he actually retired. Can anybody say there was anything in that interview that was new??

What I actually meant by talking old timers with him, wasn`t how I would conduct and interview with him .. Interviewing fighters isn`t my thing .. I can only claim to be a boxing fan in that respect. What I meant was if I was ever lucky enough to spend any length of time in his company.

I`m sure the editor of the local paper you wrote that for was happy with it. But to be honest it wasn`t anything special or insightfull towards Tyson from anything I`d not read a hundred times before...

Thats not to say I`m not incredibly jealous of you for having the oppurtunity to pose the questions you did :D

Tony, that is the most naive post I've read on here in a while.

You seem an expert on Tyson, or obviously think you are. Given his current state of mind I was lucky to get any time with him for a talk. Do you think he is able to sit down for half an hour and discuss with a regional news reporter the La Motta v Robinson series, or the merits of Marciano's left hook? How about his favourite Jack Dempsey bout? Give me a break, the guy walks in, is befuddled and volatile, up and down like a yo yo and is about to go on stage ten minutes later. I fought hard to get that, nobody else in Wales got it and I'm proud to have had a little of his time. I never blow my own trumpet on here but I think I did OK given the circumstances!

I can happily take criticism, you take it a lot in this job, but your post is wide of the mark and the people whose opinion I respect seem to disagree with you.

That said, thanks for your feedback...it's nice to know such a talented scribe took the time to read my little article :TU:
For what my opinion is worth, I thought you did a good job. Tyson is a difficult interview subject because so much is known about him, and most of the time he is tired of being interviewed, I thought given the time constraints and the subjects volatility you did a sterling job.

No, that's what he does with females. He doesn't usually talk to them unless he's going to fornicate with them. With men, it's "I'll fck you in the ass 'til you love me, you faggot".

Different thing entirely.

There's bits cut out of that interview by the way, talk of the Klu Klux Klan and Nazis! I'll play you the tape next time we're in the pub!
