EDWIN VALERO ARRESTED

Post by SteveDow »

I've just heard that Edwin Valero has been arrested in Venezuela for attacking his wife. Apparently he knocked her out and left her with a collapsed lung!! Surely his career is in jeopardy now.

That tattoo could be his saviour in the Venezuelan courtrooms. Funny how the assault charges last year were dropped. He is obviously scum of the highest order...allegedly.

I disagree. His personal life should not effect his right to box.

Well is that the kind of person you want associated with the sport? Hopefully (if true) he ends up in prison and therefore takes away the argument.

Sounds like this gentleman, whoever he is, needs to channel his aggression the right way. He should take up boxing or something.

boxing is a buisness there is no moral ground were money is concerned :!:

boxing took a massive kick in the nuts when they let tyson continue after disfiguring holyfield, it became laughable but left many disgusted with the buisness.

valero has got severe brain problems which boxing dont help, he isnt allowed to box in many places down to these issue's.
i believe there is an imbalance due to damage he's recieved & pity the man, to be lashing out to them closest to him show's he aint well as it aint normal.

No, but I don't think they should be banned.

No need for muppet slinging.

I agree that whatever he does outside the ring, should not really affect his right to box. Unless it is illegal to do so, due to the severity of the crime.

Beating up your wife is a low act indeed and I imagine he has little respect from people as a consequence. Tyson, Paul Gasgoine, Percy Montgomerry and many others are alledged wife beaters, but people still hold them dear to their hearts.

Valero is a street urchin from a hellhole on earth. It comes as no suprise to me that a guy like that has some pretty bad flaws.

if we stopped the careers of every bad boy form stepping in a boxing ring we wouldn’t be left with much would we.

I dont condone the actions of the man, but hasn’t mayweather given his missus a clump at one point, and corrales, tyson wouldnt have been allowed in the ring or bernard hopkins. Was calzaghe convicted of braking his missus finger, and didnt Gavin rees bang somebody out at a funeral. Amir Khan run somebody over, and johnny Tapia wouldnt have been near a ring. herbie Hide wouldve been a distant memory, as would czyz, paz and spadafora ... im sure the list goes on and on as they were off the top of my head (so there may be some inaccuracies)

Yes I am, and I apologise as this is no place for personal attacks but strongly disagree with you (you ever seen the traumatic sight of a woman terrified for her life and beaten to a pulp by her partner in the flesh... I have... why it sparked a strong remark),

So you're saying if Ricky Hatton had put his partner in hospital and punctured her lung and was found guilty of such an offence, do you think he deserves the right to fight without any form of punishment or ban?

I think any boxer found guilty of using his fists outside of hours should be made explain themselves to their requisite boxing authority. Whether that happens is obviously another story and just because so and so did this and so and so did that doesn't matter.
