good pic btw Eric but even though Webb has the two amateur wins, he said himself pro game is a clean slate and I see Small having enough to win a UD.

I've never had the priviledge of seeing Webb fight. What's his style? By looking at his record he seems he has a good workrate, likes to come forward but lacks a big punch....am I close? Or miles off?

His name is not Sam Webb, its SAMUEL WEBSTER. He seems unproud of it so has changed it.

Michael Hall of Darlington beat Junior Witter 3 times as amateurs. But was stopped in 3 by him as a pro (albeit at short notice).

Relevance to this topic, zero, but just shows Am results don't always translate the same in Pros.

I can think of a few fighters who were sh*t hot but then bombed as pro's and others who were lesser lights but went on to achieve more in Pros and would beat their one-time conquerors fairly handily.

pretty much spot-on mate. tall skinnyish guy, throws in bunches but mostly armpunches and hasn't got much dig.

last time i saw him Max Maxwell had him backing off all round the ring for the last 4 rounds. though that was the fight after the Eastman tragedy so maybe he was out of sorts. i agree with the poster who said Webb's style may well be good for Small.

Against McDonagh, Small hardly got started in the early rounds. He can't afford to do that tonight, Webb won't let him do catch up.

you can't just say that. Webb's beaten him twice and Small looked sh*t last time out.

This is no foregone conclusion at all. What this job requires is a touch of ability, a set of knackers, some confidence.......and a good start.

Webb has every chance.

Small wins it for me.

A lot of people thought Michael "Oscar" Hall beat the hitman in the 1997 final.Great boxer.Another thing, what happened to Anthony Todd from Darlington,he defeated a couple of my mates in the regionals...
