who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell (merged)
Really interesting fight but I am going for Abraham.
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
Abraham to stop him for me, late rounds
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
Abraham is another strong mofo.
I reckon Dirrel is on his tows all night and makes Abraham look clumsy.
Then WALLLLLLOPPPPP the big punch from Abraham finaly catches him in about round 10

Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
buy this one tomorrow.
i also favour abs to track him down and get rid at some point.
dirrell is capable of causing him some issues.
but abs is strong and accurate when he starts putting em out.
a brutal takedown in about 8 rds.
or a 116-112 kinda margins decision win.

I admire you for making that stand. Its pathetic that you have to pay to register and then to watch the damn thing. I payed for membership and fight for Froch/Dirrell online stream and it buffered from round one and only came back on on rnd 12, ridiculous.Godfather of Dole wrote:Principle of the thing. Don't mind paying for the fight itself but no membership fee payment will come from my pocket. What next? A pre-payment before you can go over and talk to a brass. Nah, no thanks.sg1985 wrote:This is the time to do it, the ppv is only 5.95.Godfather of Dole wrote:Abraham, would like to watch it live but no way am I paying a membership fee.
Managed to avoid the result last week and still get the fight, unfortunately.
On the fight, Abraham by harsh KO!

True. I dont know why we have any fights at all on PPV its just not on. Imagine if footballl fans or cricket fans had to pay 15£ for a fight. They'd go mad!
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
How much is the Froch Kestler fight going to cost anyone know?
Primetime are doing a deal for Abraham Dirrell and froch kessler for £20.
Doesnt sound like much of a deal to me

Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
I picked Abraham by KO more in hope than in expectation. Abraham is good for boxing and Dirrell is TV poison so it's a no brainer.
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
Dirrel on points. If both guys perform as they did last time out, then I think its the most likely scenario.
That said Arthur - not that he has travelled much. But his other USA appearance was probably his best display.

Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
I see Dirrell getting the early rounds with his movement and fast combo's but Abraham will catch up with him and begin to push him back and start catching him, stopping him late!
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
My guess is an AA ko but dirrell getting a points win isnt that far fetched.
Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
Andre Dirrell is better than Taylor was against Abraham, imo. Watching Dirrell analysing Abraham on Showtime's 24/7-style programme was interesting. Dirrell knows a slip-up during the fight is likely to cost him. I think they'll use a similar game plan to the one against Froch, just with less running, as Abraham will not pressure like Froch did.
It's going to be very interesting. A decision win for Dirrell is conceivable. I really want to back Abraham, but he does sometimes scare me with his lack of urgency. Abraham seems quite content to leave it to the last minute to close the show. He's not put a foot wrong so far, though.
Like glahn, I'm going for Abraham by KO in hope more than expectation. I think Dirrell is a fantastic boxer, though, and that worries me. I can only hope Dirrell has a mental block like I've seen him have before (though it didn't happen against Froch, so it's probably only against lesser opposition).

Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
its a bit of a funny one isn't it?
AA clearly doesn't have the feet or handspeed to stop Dirrell from doing a roadrunner for long periods. add to that Dirrell's reach advantage and I'm sure we can all see AA having to take a lot of light punches on his guard
as to whether AA will catch up with him or not, I am in two minds and as several have said neither Dirrell points or AA stoppage win would surprise me

Re: who's going to win - Abraham or Dirrell
i just hope abraham fights with enough urgency, if dirrell is going to run again.
reckon this could be something like one of the tszyu-sharmbah mitchell fights, though i'm not sure which one. hopefully the second one.
when did abraham last fight a southpaw?
as an abraham fan, it looks like a horrible fight, espcially in dirrell's home turf. but abraham did get a big name (taylor) at hoe ()germany) last time out, and you can't always have things your own way.
ppl talk abut abraham getting frustrated. but i also think dirrell might get frustrated if he only hits gloves. then again, maybe dirrell doesn't care what he hits, so long as he can sprint away from his opponent right away.

The scoring system should be geared against runners, as one local pro pointed out to me a few years ago, people pay to watch the fights. That's how he enfranchised it to me and I think he's right.

(1) haha you're hoping, Arthur and urgency go together like Americans and socialismAutobarn wrote:i just hope abraham fights with enough urgency, if dirrell is going to run again.

(2) exactly, he doesn't care what he hits, he would be happy hitting gloves for 12 if he survives it.

x3 - I voted for Abraham by ko as more wishful thinking as well. Dirrell came across as a right tit in the lead up to the Froch fight. But the more I think about this, the more I feel Dirrell can cause the upset. He's relatively inexperienced and still learning: he will have learnt a lot from the Froch fight. I've had a cheeky bet on Dirrell on points.Asterix wrote:Andre Dirrell is better than Taylor was against Abraham, imo. I agree, and I think it is a bit, but maybe not enough? Effective aggression is brought up quite often by commentators.dberry wrote:The scoring system should be geared against runners, as one local pro pointed out to me a few years ago, people pay to watch the fights.
