abraham cocked up big stylee didn't he.

thought he was just beginning to get to dirrell.

and then goes and does that.

i don't think there was any real malice in the punch.

the adrenalin was flowing and he f*cked up.

credit to dirrell.

always been convinced with his talent.

he's unlucky not to be 2-0 in this tournament. ;;-)

when i read what happened on the current scene forum (didnt watch as i was at a party) , i was disgusted and shocked to hear what AA had done , but when the video was posted on here and i watched it , im a bit confused , AA looked to barely tap Dirrell , hardly a ko blow , i then read comments about what he has said , saying hes not a cheat , i really dont know what to think , I would never say a fighter wasnt hurt, as i know head injuries can be strange at times , but im not convinced by Dirrell , i almost feel ashamed to question wether someone was genuinely hurt , but i can only judge what i see, im sure this will be debated for a few days yet.

Good post, I agree I'm still kind of on the fence. I don't blame Abraham, in the spur of the moment these things happen. It didn't look like "most" knockouts and it didn't look like Dirrell was knocked out per say by the punch. But we weren't the ones taking it and the only guy who knows for sure is Dirrell. I've seen guys ko'ed by "little" shots as well so I'm not quite sure what to think. Bit gutted Abraham dd that though as I had money on Dirrell on points!

Not sure about the episode - but what i do know, is that Dirrell boxed rings around AA, and has now beaten both him and Froch.
Wrong.

He has a defeat and a disqualification-win on his record.

A fight is 12 rounds long and AA got conned in there, he was going to KO him.

So many fights are concluded in the last 2 rounds and he was fading rapidly, he took his chance and it pulled off.

Prick.

Front the camera angle BEHIND Abraham the glove don't even connect, but scrapes past with the thumb... certainly no knuckle shot.

And has anyone seen a guy knocked out cold... who find a couple of seconds to sit up, mutter some words of disgust, before then laying down and beginning to twitch ?

Another thing i noticed was several at ring side calling him and fake and a cheater.. Dirrell shouted back "i'm not a cheater" before blubbering into tears.

Abraham is now wrongly convicted as not playing fair - yet Dirrell is the joker here.

Sure he swung a late one in as Dirrell *suprisingly* looked to fall over, but this is a piss take.

Anyone would think Abraham knocked his head clean off into the audience, Tua v Ruiz style !

American tossers.
Got to agree here aswell because the ref saved dirrell's ass I think in the eighth when he was against the ropes and the ref pulled AA on some stupid foul.

Notice that Dirrell raises his gloves back up after sitting on the floor to when he lies to the canvas.
If he was unconscious from that initial blow he couldn't have done that, also he would have just slumped banging his body harder on the deck.
I still think it was worth a DQ but the Yank made the most of it

I don't think this will be a much of a set back for AA because he is going to knock the brains out of Froch. 6 points in the tournament with two wins. He should avoid Ward.

A bit on the fence here.

I reckon he probably did make the most of it and the tears in the ring afterwards for me were from a man who knew he had made the most of it and was embarrassed. Although you can't rule out that he was just simply confused after being banjo'd in the head.

Dirrell for all his faults is a quality performer and I reckon he wins the whole thing.

Gomez - your now on a par with Max Molenyeux with your campaign to make your favourite boxer look good no matter what.

Facts are Abraham was made to look a fool by a better boxer and was on the way to being soundly beaten and lashed out because he felt like a dick.

Deserved to lose and deserves whatever punishment comes his way. Still think he KO's Froch mind

PS. Andy Carroll would win the super 6

It was Straight out of WWE!!!!!! You can almost see the realisation of a way out in his face before he lies down. Im not having it that that punch knocked him out a-la TUA RUIZ. He'd taken better shots that that throughout the fight but was tiring badly and Abraham was hunting him down would he have caught up with him we'll never know. Dirrell was on his knees but his head was up when it caught him. its not like it was at a funny angle or jolted back or even a flush shot with meat behind it etc etc I had Dirrell winning by a long margain and I am not a big Abraham fan or anything like that. Im just calling it as I saw it. Give the lad an Oscar but I found him embarassing.
And for the record I agree with GoMez first post, sums it up for me perfectly.

With a punch and a reaction it is almost impossible to tell whether a guy is acting or not.

Yes a clean shot to the point of the chin or the temple will always pose a bigger threat, but look at the strange occurances in other fights - take Vivien Harris needing an overnight stay cause of a not a particularly nasty looking head but. His reaction wasn't immedate but alarming.

Whilst there has been no news on Dirrell's health I hope seriously he WAS faking it.... I'm concerned and alarmed there has been no update after he was taken to hospital.

My concern was with the doctor after the fight, why should a doctor lie and say he was concerned he was suffering for a bleeding from the brain on TV. Was he duped by Dirrell also off camera?

Rhino - you only had Dirrell up by 3??

I think that regardless of whether Dirrell played up to the punch or not, Abraham should be DQd. It was a calculated and dangerous act which he shouldn't have got away with, docking him a point would not have made up for it.

tiredness can make a huge difference to a fighters punch resistance , whilst im on the fence , i certainly dont believe it can be compared to wwe , even if it was acting , its not as if its blatantly obvious , why dont you do 10 rounds of hard sparring , then go to your knees and let someone punch you with a hook at 50% of their punching power , ill bet you are knocked down enough for you to struggle with the effects , so in my opinion he was hurt regardless , but its t what extent that should be being questioned

The ref should have been in there quicker, and nearer to the action.

Yes, a boxer shouldn't hot a man when he is down, but then the ref should be in a position to immediatly stop the action if a fighter touches down for whatever reason.

Dirrell was a mile ahead. Abraham needed a KO. I think it was Dirrell by 4, Dirrell by 5 and Dirrell by 6. I think it was

97-93, 98-93, 98-92.

Apart from me, does anyone else on here think that for a World (super 6) championship fight, all of the officials should be neutral?

Yes, it would make a lot more sense.

However, I think objections would come from the Americans especially.

American judges do have a tendency to judge a fight in a certain way, which many American observors no doubt think is the "right" way.

I suppose it's a bit like the reason there always needs to be an american actor or part in a British film!

Nothing wrong with it, but it's a bit ethnocentric. The Americans are lovely people, but they DO have a high opinion of themselves and "their own."

I'd suspect the American reaction to three "neutral" judges would be "Why, when out guys do the best job?"

To add- I'd think us Brits are a bit like that too- We'd like to think there was at least one British ref in there, who (in our opinion) would do a "fair job." The British mistrust of for example german and italian scoring is legendary!!!

It was a blatant late blow - but it didn`t look a devastating shot, so makes you think if Dirrel was looking for a way out. Or maybe Abraham would have got the legit KO soon enough if Dirrel was that fucked.

Abraham deserved the disqualification though.

For me, the standard of all the guys in the super6 has been very very poor.

there is no way he was hurt by that for starters the punch from another angle shows that it only connected on the thumb area and wasnt a murderous punch as tarver said it was also whenever i have seen a boxer or ufc fighter palpitating on the floor they have always been out cold before they hit the floor or severely banged there head on the canvas never once have they looked at the ref thought about it for a second then rolled over and started twitching and palpitating, if the punch would have knocked him clean out he would have been out on his knees , he was just looking for the way out as abraham was starting to get to him, also abraham had a legitimate knockdown the round before and did anyone see the round where abraham had dirrell on the ropes and the ref jumped in told abraham off for putting his glove to dirrell? dirrel used his forearm a few times, strayed low with his punches and fell over a few times when under pressure the guy is a joke he a fu**ing embarrassment, allann green is right he should have been in it from the start in stead of this clown!
