Do you have copy of the barker vs conroy mcintosh fight when barker gets floored 3 times? i want to make a screensaver? put it up on youtube :TU:
boxrec have it down as 2 knockdown's havn't seen the fight myself, but that was 4 years ago and in his 11th bout, he is a completely diffrent fighter

Enough of the bullshit i dont have a problem with barker getting a shot at the EBU just the guy hes fighting ..... If barker fights his mandatory gevor straight after i cant say shit.... but the jury is still out until he fights a worthy opponent so enough with the world class rubbish! you have to beat a world class opponent before your world class.... :TU:

Good luck Barker, hope you do the business and then go on to achieve what you deserve. Barker doesnt pick his fights and would be crazy to turn round to the ebu and say belghecham isnt good enough i want to fight lee for it instead. Give him a break!!! He will fight the top europeans soon, and imo he'll win. He's not a ducker thats for sure, as wasnt he meant to have fought macklin before he got his european fight? Was fighting elcock to before he got ill. Why so negative towards him? He doesnt go around saying he's the best ever he just goes around his own business and fights. Looking forward to his future and sure he'll do very well. Go on the Dazzler!!!

I agree. Even if Barker has been blessed with a bit of luck landing this EBU title shot against a weaker then normal expected opponent, i am really glad for him. I hope he goes out there and wins in dramatic style. Then once he does get hold of the European title, along with his British and Commonwealth title, then Matthew Macklin and Jamie Moore will almost certainly have to meet him if they want to prove themselves as the best middleweight in the country. I don't care what anyone else, these two have tried to avoid Darren in the last twelve months.

now let's just wait for the "amateurs is completely different to the pros" and "Barker had a dose of the shits that day and wasn't able to box to his potential" etc etc.

Funny thing is.. if Barker had beat Lee in the amateurs and someone brought that up, you'd be saying that exact thing, "amateurs is completely different to the pros".

You are right, and Sam Webb beat Anthony Small twice in the ams but in the pros.......oh wait!!!!

Just admit it - it smacks of cowardice to fight a guy that got battered around the ring in his last fight and avoid the guy that beat him - especially when the guy has said he is willing and available for the fight.

Kinda makes any victory hollow to be honest.

Firstly the personal abuse just shows you up for the ignorant bigot that we all know you are from your hate filled ramblings on YouTube!!!

Secondly you obviously never even seen the Lee-Belghecham fight if you can come out with a comment like that.

Are you talking about Lee being smacked around by Belgecham in the final 2 rounds? and holding on for his life in the last seconds?

seen as he didnt even put a glove on Lee for 9.75 rounds then I doubt it. Lirva, I think you are vastly overestimating Belgechams successes in the fight. But if it makes you feel better to bluff and make stuff up then carry on.

mate, the last 2 rounds have already been posted in the thread. people can see for themselves, Lee is busted up in the last 2 rounds and nearly has his head removed in the last 5 seconds as Dave Boy Magalie shouts "OH MY WORD". The only reason it didn't happen earlier was because belgecham didn't believe in himself enough and didn't go for it enough until the final 2 rounds when his corner lit a fire under his ass. he said so himself in the post fight interview (which was also posted in the thread). if he had of fought like brian vera (remember that journeyman who smacked Lee around and embarrassed him on national TV in america?), he'd have gotten to Lee earlier and if he had one more round, he'd have stopped Lee. Simple as. Lee has a good hit and run style for the amateur game, but the pro game is much different. I don't need to rattle off all the guys who lost to people in the amateurs and then beat them as pros surely? One good example is Mike Tyson and Tyrell Biggs.

I suggest you watch Lee struggling and holding on for his life in the last round like I posted.

Here it is again

Also, I suggest you watch Brian Vera (the journeyman), embarrass Lee and stop him on national TV in america.

I like Andy Lee. He's entertaining to watch and seems like a nice guy. He's not ever going to be World class, imo. I think Barker has more potential than him.

As for Barker, this is a nice, easy route to the European title. I'm not really that interested in the fight. Hopefully Barker will step up a level soon.

Lee looked tired in the last 20 seconds of the fight - you choose to ignore the fact the Lee won every round in the bout!

I saw the Vera fight, he was young and naive and hyped up too much by Manny and thought he had the fight won before he got in there. I had him ahead when the fight was stopped and he was punching when the ref stopped the fight. Lee learned and grew from the fight.

Lets get back to the fact. Barker is fighting a guy for the European title that Lee has just convincingly beaten. Lee is ahead of Belgecham in the EB ratings, Belgecham isnt even in the top 10, Lee has said that he wants this fight and is happy to fight Barker for the title.

Therefore I wont be recognising Barker as the European champion even if he wins.

And how did you come to that conclusion mate that barker has more potential than lee? Just wait until barker vs belghecham to see how barker performs before you say how good barker is ..... this is barkers best opponent just wait and see. :box:

I've seen a few fights from both Barker and Lee. Their respective levels will be seen when they both step up, or lose (again, in Lee's case).
