Mtchell at Upton Park
Mtchell at Upton Park
Got tickets for this via See tickets - does anyone tihnk the the venue will be full of the worst kind of West 'am football supporters?
I've heard about stories of crowds being a nightmare when boxing is held at a football ground - Bruno at Wembley, Eubank at White Hart Lane etc.
I'm also going with an Aussie so don't want for him to get started on as soon as he opens his mouth at the bar!

I'd imagine the place will be full of the thug west ham fans. As usual though-and the same applies for football-you won't get in to any trouble if you don't go looking for it.
Just gotta hope there's none sat around you though.

I'm hoping that See tickets have sperate blocks to the tickets sold by WHU - no offence but I don't want to be sat in the middle of a load of ICF wannabees chavs who have been on the beers all day seeing as it's FA Cup Final day.

Isn't he that bloke in The Office? He'll be having shoe throwing competitions over the Bobby More stand at the end of the night...

Re: Mtchell at Upton Park
I heard a rumour that it's normal Sky. They want to build him up into a potential Sky PPV boxer, and a high profile fight like this will help matters.
Re: Mtchell at Upton Park
Will that depend on what happens to Khan fight?gobbles wrote:I heard a rumour that it's normal Sky. They want to build him up into a potential Sky PPV boxer, and a high profile fight like this will help matters.

It used to be the top of the North Bank, then Centenary now Sir Trevor Brooking stand, but there doesnt appear to be a family stand anymore.

Hmm, me thinks some people are stuck in the 80s.
"Football thugs at Boxing" is a myth. Been to far more footie games than boxing shows, yet come across far more pricks at boxing shows, especially the bigger boxing shows than at any football ground and that includes West Ham(and I'm Tottenham!)
Some boxing fans are snobs! Stop trying to pin the blame on football fans and look at the idiots that turn up for certain fights and the security that "run" some of these shows.

At least three of us in there are teetotal... the 'real' Jesus didn't mind a drink either. Anyway I couldn't think of anything worse than having a drink with someone who thinks we are all alcohol-soaked nutters.Jesus wrote:i couldnt think of anything worse then having a drink with a bunch of pissed up hammers fansMatthewS wrote:Anyone fancies a pint (no I dont mean Im buying it) before hand a group of us will be in The Hammers to watch the game first.
