Re: Boxing books pre 1920
http://stores.lulu.com/lawson - lots of free downloadable manuals from the great dan mendoza to owen swift.
http://www.scribd.com/Dragonfist85?fb_xd_bust - great manuals for boxing & classic pugilism and other western martial arts related to pugilism.
http://www.angelfire.com/alt/wma/Walker ... 35WDE.html - Walkers Defensive Exercises (1840)
http://www.sirwilliamhope.org/Library/ - more manuals of pugilism & some fencing
Also some books from the early 1900's contain a lot of knowledge about Classic Pugilism like Jack Dempsey's Championship Boxing (1950) wich talks about all kinds of things forgotten about since the early days like vertical fist punching, the "Power Line" and much more. Also remember that books only show so much (usually the beginning and end of the technique) but dont illustrate key points like the middle of the technique and sometimes offer vague advice thats in old english so i suggest using videos to train with aswell
