I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
I hate to say this, because i'm a big Haye fan, but I think Ruiz beats him on points. Can you name a better guy Haye has fought than Ruiz? Ruiz is experienced and used to performing at the very top level. Hope i'm wrong!
Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
Im not sure Ruiz will beat him, but if he is allowed to hold and maul like he normally does. Haye better hope his Stamina is up to it.
Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
Haye's looking heavily muscled for this. Hope his stamina's good for 12 if he goes and throws the kitchen sink at Ruiz early doors.
People have been saying that about Haye for as long as he's been fighting though, I think he'll be fine.
It'd be horrendous if he lost this, after all of the publicity he's been getting lately, I don't even want to think about it.

Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
Haye is going to put Ruiz out early.
probably in two rounds.
I'm basing this on Hayes speed and workrate early.
If it goes beyond 7 and Ruiz is on the inside then Haye is screwed I fear.

Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
Haye brings superhuman heavyweight skills and the power of kryptonite.
John Ruiz brings a sleeping pill and its not in the shape of a Heavyweight punch.
Saw Ruiz on TV earlier and ok he has a new trainer and is claiming to be in the shape of the Holyfield days (nightmares for the fans) but Ruiz reminds me of Gerrie Coetzee, who was No.1 WBA contender at the time when he came here to fight Frank Bruno and got hammered in a round.

Said all along I think and hope David Haye wins - I am however thinking there will be some drama or scares on the way.
It will be a good fight.
It will be a good fight.
Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
I imagine it would be a good value bet
Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
And it is not a good comparison because Haye and Ruiz are completely different fighters stylistically and fought the Giant in very different ways. Ruiz actually dropped Valuev in one of their fights but the ref ignored it. I'm not sure what he has left though, didn't look good against a journeyman last time out. I think Haye should win this. If he struggles it will be his second poor showing in a row at HW.Jab and Move wrote:Ive never seen the fights but apparently Valuev was gifted the wins, both in Germany.jake the snake wrote:Valuev for starters , he s beaten Ruiz twice so the form line is there .

If you can figure out which fight it was, please let me know. I'd like to see it.crusader wrote:And it is not a good comparison because Haye and Ruiz are completely different fighters stylistically and fought the Giant in very different ways. Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
I hope Haye wins, I think he will but i hope it is a good fight. Will be a good night I think, looking forward to Groves too.
Re: I'm picking Ruiz to beat Haye
It was the second fight. The link is here and it is around the 14 minute mark. The ropes clearly hold Valuev up after he was nailed with a flush right hand.Asterix wrote:If you can figure out which fight it was, please let me know.
