Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
been amazed for a while nobody has snapped rhodes up.... presume his part association with frank is over.
Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter

Dont bet on it,he will hold Ryan to his contract.Do you think he will walk away from him and let Coldwell and the Hatton's run the show?Even if he doesnt want to,he would stay out of spitejonny wrote:yes thats what I was thinking thought he was joint managed by Dave Caldwell and Mr Warren and cant see Mr Warren working with the HattonsWales wrote:been amazed for a while nobody has snapped rhodes up.... presume his part association with frank is over.

Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
Well done and bout bloody time!
Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
maybe it's taken a long time because a) he might lose his european title to a good contender and b) he has little chance to beat, or even get a fight with, martinez (rhodes won an elim recently).

Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
I just love some of the crap posted on here at times.
The EBU appointed three different mandatory challengers to Rhodes EBU title and for numerous reasons none of which hailed from Rhodes or his camp, the fights did not materialise.
Subsequently the EBU have granted Rhodes a voluntary defence which will take place on 21-05-10 in Sheffield.
Thereafter, Rhodes will take on his mandatory Lucas Konekny.
What sort of bollocks is it to say the fight hasn't taken place because Rhodes might lose ?
Keep watching Fantasy Island Auto.
As for Martinez if you knew an ounce about Boxing you would realise he is taking on Williams at Middleweight.
If he beats him, expect him to stay there, and vacate at Light Middle.
If he loses he must take on his mandatory at Light Middle and that could be Rhodes.
Chavez is suspended and Cintron has plans.
I assume that's enough information for you Jizzle to realise he is going somewhere.

Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
calm down 26 and don't take things the wrong way. i wasn't being negative or ignorant, though it might have come out that way.
if martinez loses, he'll keep the WBC 154 belt, and he'll be defending that. we all know that brits can win elims, but even when they are final elims, the fights can still get put off forever. and rhodes' win over moore was jsut an elim, not a final elim, so in other words the WBC can defer, delay, do what the bugger they want. i knew martinez was fighting pavlik, i was so glad that he was rewarded with this fight after the "loss" to williams.
it would be very hard for rhodes to do anything vs martinez. the man is very, very smooth and rhodes' job is counter punching - i just see a very hard fight, perhaps a no win fight. rhodes was great vs moore, who came at him with world class offensive skills. but when rhodes had that lanky brit whose name i've forgotten backing off (it was on setanta), he didn't look that going going after an opponent.
re the EBU. last i heard it was proska who was the top contender. i haven't been keeping track. canclaux looked a hard fight, but he went elsewhere. it just looks like there are some high risk fights and we can't take it for granted that rhodes will retain his belt - when the fight finally comes. great that a promoter has picked him up, because on his night he is good.

Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
Proska have never been appointed at any stage by the EBU.
He simply does not have the ranking.
Baysangourov didn't want it, Bayram didn't want it, and Cancleaux messed up by losing an Intercontinental fight.
Konecny has been fighting at Middle but as things stand he is the mandatory.
If you look at the WBC rankings then its going to be very hard to overlook Rhodes for a mandatory.
Chevez is banned, Cintron is already fighting.
My apologies if I have misinterpreted your post, but I've read it again and it certainly reads very negatively.

Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
i was feeling more cynical than anything else - especially when guys like rhodes and munroe can win outstanding "eliminator" fights and not get world title fights.
thanks for clarifying. i could have sworn proska was ranked for the 154 EBU title - at one point. but these guys who have potential world class futures normally go elsewhere (baysangurov etc).

No Macklin left Hatton and apparently rickys deal with Sky was in question as a result.
Re: Ryan Rhodes has a new promoter
I imagine Hatton will try and sign Jon Murray. Ryan a good signing for Hatton promotions. There contract will get ruined I imagine.Jab and Move wrote:No Macklin left Hatton and apparently rickys deal with Sky was in question as a result.

Rick can announce he's not quitting after all,and Sky will be crawling up his arse.Naz did it for years, and Oscar has used a similar tactic

Ifs, thereafter, could be, numerous reasons, blah blah blah.twenty six wrote:I just love some of the crap posted on here at times.

Jizzle,
Can you be a little more scientific.
What is it about Konecny that makes you believe he has the beating of Rhodes ?
I've seen the majority of his latest fights and I'm interested to know what you've seen to be so definite that he will beat Rhodes.
