LOL think the nighbours are pretty happy i moved countries lol..
Re: Carl 'The Cat' Thompson gives Ruiz a chance
I was at the fight, remember foolishly thinking Thompson could have been stopped in those first 2 rounds when Haye was loading up
But Haye is a completely different fighter these days, even in his more recent early stoppages, they have not come from him going all out attack. I remember thinking when watching the Thompson fight again on TV that Haye wasn't getting his full power into his shots as he had gone too erratic.
I do think the Ruiz fight will be a tough one for him, but it will have a lot more in common with the Momeck and Fragomeni fights, although Ruiz is much slower on his feet than those two which could be key

That Haye lacks the speed and ring smarts that Jones and Toney did goes without saying. He also lacks the one shot power that Tua has. I think a tough night is ahead. Ruiz might be Hayes perfect foil. He will make it a phsical fight, Haye an explosive type may struggle unless he has ammeded his training.
Re: Carl 'The Cat' Thompson gives Ruiz a chance
Get off this f**king forum, Thomas. I'm still waiting for your Bolton report. Come to think of it, it was that long ago the Cat himself might have been on the undercard.Jeff Thomas wrote:That Haye lacks the speed and ring smarts that Jones and Toney did goes without saying. Re: Carl 'The Cat' Thompson gives Ruiz a chance
I know...the Blackpool one was cancelled as we know and I thought you said you would cover the Bolton show which was coming up shortly after. I certainly put you down in the schedules anyway. At least that's what I thought you said.
I'd probably done a bottle of claret before our convo.

Sorry to hear about your Eastside ban. I'm glad to hear they have some standards though.
Re: Carl 'The Cat' Thompson gives Ruiz a chance
I give Ruiz a chance too... Though a small one at that...
His hugging and tugging tactics might spoil the fight and achieve a points victory...
What Thompson needs to do is give Haye a rematch... The Hayemaker has long been looking for revenge.
