Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
thats the slippery slope lol... you will never reach another point in your betting life where you are completely in profit...
Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
i tell you one thing....i find watching boxing alot more fun and enjoyable to watch when you got money down on it....and theres no better feeling then winning!

6-1 on split,not a bet i would reccomend.Far too specific.
Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
Indeed, I remember winning my first ever bet - my dad put a quid of mine on a horse for me at 12/1 which won.
Little did I realise then it was the most expensive bet I'd ever have

The key to winning is been selective with your bets and not having a punt on every boxing match just for the sake of it.

It cetainly does feel good winning a bet, and it does make uninspiring fights that bit more interesting when you've got a few quid riding on it.
I won on Haye in the 9th too, just a quid on it. But i was more happy with the win i got on the Groves fight. I won £30 on that one by risking £90 at 1/3.
However just as the thrill of the win is brilliant...the sickening feeling of a loss is on par at the other end of the scale.
I had around £30 on Klitschko/Chambers to go the distance...only for Klitschko to flatten him with about 5 seconds left! I was just walking out the room to make myself a celebratory cup of tea only to hear the commentator shout... walked back in and well imagine how gutting that was....lol
I had Martinez to beat Williams.....i felt hard done by on that one.
I had Dilks to win on points against Adamu....only for the judges to rob both Carl and me blind!
I had Ian Napa to win on points against Jamie McDonnell.....only to get ripped off again!
I had Martin Lindsay to beat Jamie Arthur inside schedule...only to watch Lindsay get a bit over excited after scoring early KD's load up and look too hard for the stoppage which of course never came!
My point is.....by all means have a bet and enjoy it, but always realise its a rocky, unpredictable and often very unfair road

Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
I started out being a machine in boxing betting, winning 200 on danny williams KO tyson, 500 on calzaghe UD salem, jones getting knocked out for 200, enzo macc KO1 bobby gunn for 1000, Prescott KO1 Khan for 1600. Then I became convinced, twice, that Khan would be obliterated again and things went to shit. Fvck boxing betting.

I HATE it when that happens... you pick it right, and then some eejit takes it away from youlurkyshaka wrote: only for the judges to rob both Carl and me blind!

You weren't the only one. The Dilks one was sickening but I had a funny feeling with the Napa fight because I scored it 115-114 to McDonnelllurkyshaka wrote: I had Dilks to win on points against Adamu....only for the judges to rob both Carl and me blind!

If anyone fancies Adamek to stop Arreola this weekend the odds seem very generous to me at 9/2
Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
Yeah, I have a rule too. If I lose then I don't bet for a week, and I never bet over £20 at a time, and always between odds of 5/6 and 9/1.

I'm staying away, if Arreola can go ten with Vitali you'd think he can last the distance with Adamek who hasn't carried his power upto heavyweight with him. I suppose Arreola is hittable though.

You could be right to stay away as always Time Will Tell, but Arreola has been down a few times and I'm not convinced on his stamina. It should be a cracking fight, just a pity it's not being shown over hereblack panther wrote:Chambers2 wrote:If anyone fancies Adamek to stop Arreola this weekend the odds seem very generous to me at 9/2

I had a spread betting account for more than ten years and recently cancelled it. The final straw was when their website kept f*cking me over 'in running'. During a Scotland v Wales rugby match, the Jocks had a lad sent off and I wanted to get out with a small profit. Try, try and try again (in more f*cking ways than one) but the site kept offering me a price, saying it had changed, would I accept?, yes!, back to square one. Was too late and had a loss.
I don't mind paying for my f*cking mistakes but I'm not paying for theirs.
Re: won the first ever bet i put down!!
There's nothing worng with the occasional bet, as skybet say, it matters more when there's money on it!!
But a cheaper option is doing a football fantasy side and the prediction league on here to give you more interest in fights/games that might otherwise might not have interested you.
I'm like you Riddick, betting on boxing started brilliantly for me; used to stick decent money on every Calzaghe fight to be a Calzaghe points win (which seems obvious now, but always paid out well), best be I made in recent times was Hopkins at 5-1 beating Pavlik (crazy odds in hindsight!!).
More recently it's gone to shit!! Put cash on Haye to stop Ruiz in rounds 1-3 and halfway through round 1 was patting myself on the back.
My betfair account is offically empty and will stay that way till the next 'sure thing' or 'bit of value' that comes along![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
