Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
We should all be supportive of Haye in his quest to beat both Vitali & Wladamir. If he loses, then what sort of state is the HW division going to be in? Both brothers are not going to be around much longer (Vitali has said he plans to retire at the end of 2010) & Wladamir will soon be gone!
Haye will beat both of them. What David said about Chambers & Arreola was right (about the condition of both guys). How can you expect to even dent the Klitchkos when you turn up so out of shape?
Hay brings character, charisma, etc, to the division. If he loses, then the division will be in an even worse state than its in atm.
If I was Haye I'd put it right on the Klits when/if they meet in the ring!

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
i think Haye has the ability to beat both brothers BUT they both have the ability to beat him, its going to be a case of are the klits going to land those clinical jabs that would put haye in his place then the straight rights which we all know can knock him down.
OR
Is haye going to be too fast for them to hit him cleanly and drop them bombs he throws, because if he does he will spark them both.
i think he should go in against wlad first imo.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
Buncey made a fair point, if Haye had landed on Wladimir like he did with Ruiz in that first round, would Wlad have beat any count?
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
he got off the floor 3 times against peter
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
plus if wlad landed on haye what ruiz did would haye have lasted

haye hasn't got a cat in hell's chance against either of them. wlad will have haye backpedalling away from the jab then eating a big right when he plucks up the courage to try and throw a hail mary once a round. i'd give him three rounds max.
as for the character and charisma...it's not a beauty contest but seeing as you mentioned it wlad pulls 50,000 live in germany so he is far more popular than haye.
haye looks the part and talks a good game but he is made for either klitschko (cautious, chinny and small)

Why is that ?
Not be funny towards you or anything - but who are you to tell me who I should like / dislike - or support ?
Contray to what alot of people on this forum might think - I dont have bad feeling toawrd David Haye because he beat Maccarenelli
I couldnt give a toss that he blasted out a glass jawed paper champion in Maccarenelli
David Haye proved he was easily a class above Maccarenelli and I think Maccarenelli got what he desevred in that fight because he was a paper champion proclaiming himself to be the best - and he got a reality check that being handed a WBO belt dosent mean you are really the best
Maccarenellis ego was massively overinflated by the time he fought Haye - and he got taught a painful lesson
No - I have always been opposed to Haye - long before - from the earlier days of his pro career
I thought he was a fraud - a posing big mouth love himself fraud who thought he was way better than he was - and I felt justified when Carl Thompson beat him
Since then - in fairness - Haye has proved to me that he is much better than i gave him credit for intially
he is proper world class - and he has got heart and guts and chraisma - I like watch Haye fights he is very exciting
And I have come around to Haye a little since the earlier days when I just thought he was a fake
But he is for real
But that dont mean I am obliged to be a fan boy of David Haye - just because he is British
He is a cocky big mouth sometimes smug person - and I think if Wlad jabbed him to defeat I would be pleased for Wlad
Wlad is a decent person - a nice guy - and a good fighter.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
I think Haye loses to both the Klitschko's. He looked quite easy to hit last night with his left hand down so low Wlad would have a field day with that jab, Haye always has a chance as he is fast and powerful but i dont see the Klitschko's giving him a chance

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
I'm pleased Haye won, and won by stoppage. Just can't help feeling a little disappointed by the overall performance. He's an incredibly talented fighter, the most naturally gifted heavyweight out there right now. How much of his talent did he show last night? He more or less bludgeoned Ruiz out of the fight. I think he could have won much easier and put on an exibition.
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
I wish Haye all the best and I think he is a great fighter and a nice guy, but... he is LITERALLY punching above his weight. If you want to get really cynical, his timing for being in the HW division is perfect. The only people in his way, realistically, are the Klit bros. I admire David greatly for his endeavours and would like to see him beat both the Brothers, but it's a big ask. David has plenty of flaws as a boxer, but to an extent I think this is what makes him all the more entertaining to watch. Seeing him get dropped every now and again, or running out of steam, or having questionable techniques, it all adds to the excitement if you're honest. Could be a robotic iron curtain throwback, that'd be a laugh... ;;-)

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
HaYE looked Ok against a tough stayer...but the ridiculous overrating of Haye's victory against a 38 year old slow, former cruiser weight who had lost 3 of his last 6 and hadn't beaten a decent opponent since 2001 was laughable.
Ruiz looked like what he is - a journyman who would never had had all these chances without Don King.
it's a meaningless victory which doesn't change the likelihood of Haye being ko'd against either brother within 5 rounds.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
i agree with you but haye has dynamite & only has a chance v vladimir early doors, haye is the tommy hearns of the heavies you cant blink.mickey1975 wrote:He wouldnt, one jab would put him in his shell.Haye's chin is hardly Oliver Mcall's.Corrie Sanders and Brewster hit a lot harder than Mock,Thompson,Mormeck, etc. He also got up three times from Sam Peters shots,a known banger, and in the last,a time Haye will be blowing out of his arse.Im not a big fan of either Klit, but they are supreme athletes and i think all wrong for Haye, they know it as wellidle talk wrote:haye would smash wlad on that performance.. wlad has no chin! corey sanders and lemont brewster, enough said
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
It was nerve racking watching Haye last night as his chin is very dubious. But his power he possesses is fantastic. but from that performance last night, i dont think the Klit bros will be worried.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
both klits will take out haye, easy
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
Their jab will keep Haye at bay :) However if Haye could get inside, then there will be fireworks.
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
In my mind, I like Haye over Wladimir as I feel he can land on the younger Klitschko's chin and I couldn't see Wlad beating the count... I'm taking the standpoint Haye can out-manouvre him to land.
I'm somewhat more uneasy about him fighting Vitali who I feel is more than capable of absorbing Haye's bombs...
Whatever I think - it's fights I want to see!

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
what we really need to happen is Haye to demolish wlad, then get have a tear up with vitali and loose by a flash ko. I know im a big haye fan and would be routing for him to win BUT then we would have some big rematches coming our way - Vitali v Haye 2 and then if Haye won a decider.
thats would keep us entertained for a while.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
Vitali hasn't looked great lately but I always get the impression he's holding something back, according to the person he's got in front of him. Samuel Peter and Kevin Johnson didn't exactly set the boxing world on fire. I consider David Haye to be better than both of them for sure.
VK to look impressive and stop/KO David.

Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
this makes me laugh a bit. haye wasn't impressive! blimey!
didn't he just easily break down and stop ruiz, without even a single round of sparring in the last 4 weeks, and not even looking in prime shape? didn't he jolt ruiz in every round, marking up a fighter who can hug his way through fights and keep coming back? wasn't stopping ruiz mid-to-late rounds kind of what we were hoping for? haye has thrashed ruiz so badly, ruiz may never come back again.
with proper preparation he would have done it quicker and with more efficiency. haye is clearly a level above the WBA/recycled level of challengers, and is still learning as a heavyweight - how many fights has he had over 200-pounds? 4 or 5? he still has rough edges, but is coming on, has had some decent rounds, and may be one of the best p4p punchers in the sport. that movement and those sudden shots are really troubling to lumbering heavyweights.

Lets not forget - Ruiz is a guy that got outboxed and jolted by a former middleweight champion in their 1st fight at heavyweight ... a guy who also got beaten by another fat former middleweight champion not long after also ... nuff said

RJJ isnt just any fighter though is he? and he beat him with speed not power and is the second fighter your refering too Toney - who was on the juice?!!!tonyevs wrote:Lets not forget - Ruiz is a guy that got outboxed and jolted by a former middleweight champion in their 1st fight at heavyweight ... a guy who also got beaten by another fat former middleweight champion not long after also ... nuff said

That first Punch would have knocked Wlad out for a good minute. FACT.FLINT ISLAND wrote:Haye showed power - but everyone knows he is a banger.
Apart from that = Ruiz showed Haye is no-where near as fast as he thinks he is.
He run out of ideas - couldnt do much with Ruiz for much of the fight.
He couldnt land on Ruiz for much of the fight.
Carrys that left hand way too low - Ruiz actually clipped Haye in the early rounds (maybe 2nd) and he stumbled back and only the ropes kept him up.
He was blowing - his stamnia is poor.
Basically - Roy Jones clowned and schooled a prime Ruiz.
Haye was a bit struggling to master a old Ruiz.
I dont see how anyone can say that Haye was convincing enough to fancy him to beat any of the Kiltishcko brothers.
Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
apart from the fact that it would have hit wladimir on the neck, klitschko is a different kettle of fish to anything haye has had to deal with, klitschkos jabs will trouble haye. klitschko has the power to hurt haye.....badlyNightmare Roy wrote:That first Punch would have knocked Wlad out for a good minute. Re: Haye didnt show anything to worry the Klit Brothers
Its all ifs - if wlads jab is effective against an extremely quick haye and if haye can get past the jab and land against an extremely effective jabber like wlad. To me that means the fight is wide open - id pick hayes speed and power over wlads one dimensional fighting personally.rhino222 wrote:apart from the fact that it would have hit wladimir on the neck, klitschko is a different kettle of fish to anything haye has had to deal with, klitschkos jabs will trouble haye. klitschko has the power to hurt haye.....badlyNightmare Roy wrote:That first Punch would have knocked Wlad out for a good minute.
