Boxings major fights this last 2 weeks...farce (bar haye)

Post by junior pepa seed »

Well as a long time Box fan i was bored stiff by jones v bhop 2..could not believe the shit Bernnnnard was pulling the laying on the floor, the low blows and the spoiling..i m done with the B hop i fight my heart out crap. He said he was the blue collar philly fighter..he forgot to mention he was a millionaire too i guess. Then the super six throws up the dirrel v abrahams joke..no one will know apart from dirrel if that was for real or not but after this weekend i was just glad i didnt buy any ppv.

Not all sour enjoyed the Haye card well done hayemaker...

thoughts?

Agreed,

Hopkins eradicated any respect he's slowly gained in wins over Pavlik, Tarver etc in one ugly swoop.

I knew Hopkins vs Jones was going to be awful so I have not gone out of my way to watch it. From what I've heard on these forums, it was a good idea. Hopefully they'll both retire.

i think it was about 2 weeks ago when pongsaklek wonjongkam, the thai warrior, regained his WBC flyweight title vs rising japanese star koki kameda. it was a commanding display, as the older man (veteran of some 19 or 20 world title bouts), took the younger man, a 2 weight world champ, to school. wonjongkam also got some american recognition, winning the ring mag flyweight title. many will have more respect for his record, after such a clear win over ahighly rated opponent, away from home.

that certainly wasn't a farce. i found it to be a highly positive fight. i was a p-wong detractor, but the win has made me look up more of his fights and re-evaluate many of my opinions. i've paid a lot more attention to this, than to abraham-dirrell, hopkins-jones. i was still thinking about this fight a few days ago when it dawned on me haye was fighting in the first heavyweight title bout in the UK since i believe lewis-botha.

Personally I thoroughly enjoyed the Abraham-Dirrell fight.

So did i,disapointed with the ending, but thought it was a masterclass by Dirrell. He lacks the minerals to be truly special,or he would have got up,but he looks good at what he does

art fellas, i liked the start but it was the way it all unfolded into a car crash and a crying boxer that got me peeved the whole thing at the end was muary or springer all over.

I respect any and all who step in the squared circle, but i just hated the trash at the end with dirrel and yes men walking from arena crying.."he knocked me out mayne (man in a dirty south accent)" would a british boxer have done that i asked myself? :witzend:

some good points tho
