adamu is not terrible, look at his record, yes he is raw but he is a very very dangerous contender, you need a game plan to beat his style, groves and booth executed that gameplan to the letter.

someone is saying smith should not bother with a 9 fight pro... well, unfortunately its not about the number of fights you have had or your age...basically if you are good enough then you are experienced enough and old enough.... groves is red hot, he is an ow a belt holder, he is now above dodson an dquigley in the pecking order, he wants your belt smigga, he is calling you out...........why dont you accept the challenge, the public want it, it would sell tickets, and it would be a good worthy british title scrap, and as groves said, he will put his comm belt on the line too.

dont you want to prove yourself right smigga? ... you think you can beat him...so do it !!
Do the public want it? I want him to fight Magee.

Firstly, well done Groves, he looked big and strong in there. He does get hit though, but took the punches. One wonders how he'd cope against a banger.

Secondly, well done Carl..!!

Groves, the lad needs to front crawl before he goes swimming with the sharks.

This fight with adamu is not formality. End of the day, i think you have to favour adamu in all aspects; title holder, bigger record and experiance, and he WILL hit groves back.

I would love to see groves in with dilks after this, though if successful, as dilks never lost the fight against adamu in a month of sundays and deserves the chance to win it as he did the first time, and would smash the granny out of groves
I feel it is unfortunately, Adamu was AWFUL in his last fight, no skill, no real desire to win just swinging wildly and hanging in tough to take the win, which I didn't think he deserved. Dilks won the fight but again, looked bad and had no real belief in himself - The post fight interview confirmed that.

Adamu will be a punchbag, the wild shots should never catch anyone of a decent ability and I feel Groves will blast as many shots as he can in as short a time he can - copying his idol Haye. Referee may jump in due to too much punishment but it WILL be interesting for one reason only. If Groves can do the 12 and if his chin holds up if somehow Adamu lands a lottery shot.

Adamu is nothing like the one that had a good go at Froch, and the Commonwealth title is there for the taking for any super-middleweight that can box for 12 rounds. I reckon referee jumps in around 5-6 and I feel Adamu is seriously being over-rated - along with Groves
;)
fair cop smigga, i called that one totally wrong!!! you will still have groves if it has to happen mate!!

I'll say this much, Groves has achieved more in nine pro fights than Smith had achieved in 28. You could even argue that stopping Adamu is a better result than close decision wins over Dodson and Quigley. Groves is a risk taker and isn't going to be wrapped in cotton wall or carefully moved towards his titles. Smith is good, but Groves might be special. I think Groves could box for the British title in his next fight and win it.

This division's heating up nicely now!

Now you seem to know your boxing, or 3000+ posts on here says you read and get involved a lot.

You KNOW the fight isn't going to happen. So all the "prove yourself right" business is unfair.
The fight will happen if I am British champion and he becomes mandatory challenger.
I want EBU and world titles, is that such a bad thing? If any champion at any weight answered every little call out or mention of his name we'd be fighting every week.

Groves is promoted by maloney so can't see match being happening without purse bids being called for.

and sliced bread lol

Id settle for seeing champions fight 4 times a year... once every three months... two mandatories, one voluntary, and one non-title international fight

I cant blame groves or smith they are both chasing the biggest fights available to them! Naturally Smith wants the European which will lead to a possible world title shot which is clearly the obvious route to take and Groves will make alot more money fighting Paul Smith in Liverpool in front of a packed house than defending the commonwealth against an unknown african or most other super middles! Personally I think Groves looked class but 1 win against a past his best Adamu does not warrant giving up a shot at Brian Magee who just went to Denmark and Knocked out a much more dangerous Larsen for a much better belt.

fair play to you smigga and my message got a decent well thought out reply from you.

you are right about the promoter thing, but stranger things have happened in boxing. but do you want to fight groves and prove yourself the best? .. if so go and ask for the fight, call him out on tv, put the ball back into his court, then at least it looks like you want it.

anyway, perhaps a fight further down the line will earn a lot more dough for you guys, good luck anyway, i just hope the fight takes place one day as your styles could gell nicely and it would be a good british title scrap and a fair indicator as to who is going to go any further than that level !!
