The downfall of David Haye

Post by FLINT ISLAND »

The rot has already set in for David Haye.

Below I list the reasons why.........................................

1.) He has not progressed since Crusierweight - just put on more weight - and if anything has stagnated as a fighter.

2.) Falling in love with his power - Hamed did it - now Haye is doing it - the rest of his game is being neglected

3.) Sucking up the "King David" hype the media and all the yes men glory hangers on are giving him - lets get this right
he beat a terrible champion in Valuev and is still only a paper champion.

4.) Poor stamnia and runs out of puff too easy

5.) Confidence crisis - usual super confident Haye has major doubts about himself at heavyweight - no pre fight nerves -
but the way he fights at heavyweight - he knows he is only one punch from maybe being knocked out -.

6.) Celebrity Champion - spending far too much time on things like the Jonathan Ross show and Bafata awards - still
probaly has his usual gym sessions but I bet he is not training with the same intensity.

7.) Money and comfort are now secured - it was the end of Hamed - and other fighters - it takes a real raw kind of fighter
like Bernard Hopkins to still stay hungry and moitvated despite being a millionaire several times over.

8.) Wants to get out by the time he is 31 - one eye on retirement is the wrong mentality - he should stick with boxing until
he has accomlisped his goals - whatever age that turns out to be.

9.) Shit chin - when Vitali lands its curtains.

10.) Inexperience - he simply does not know enough in a ring to beat the Klitscko brothers - is only hope is a one shot KO
But if it goes a few rounds - or even the full 12 rounds - I bet he is down heavily on all judges scorecards.

11.) Adam Booth - I give credit that Booth has great Chemistry with Haye - but does he really have the experience and
know how to take Haye to the next level as a World Heavyweight NO 1 - he needs freddie roach or something.

12.) Wife Natasha due to give birth to 2nd child soon - can make him more contented family man - and not want to put
it all on the line like before.

13.) Parties - Birds - Booze - all the tempation is there now for Haye as he is invited to every event on the Celeb circuit.
Lennox Lewis turned up fat for a few fights after all the glitzy parties and just managed to get away with it - Haye
is not so big or strong - and he will be blowing after 3 rounds and taken apart.

14.) Lack of size and stength - he simply isnt big and strong as some of these big lads.

15.) America - Golden Boy want him to fight out in Las Vegas, etc - how many British fighters have you seen come
unstuck out there ?

16.) Training camp - uprooted this fight camp from Cyprus cos he was helping with the promotion of selling the fight
in the UK - a sure sign the fighter is becoming more focused on the money / material aspect than improving as
a fighter.

Great post.

Very insightful.
I'm sure David will read your post and decide it's time to call it a day now as it's been a waste of time moving up from the Cruiser division.

Maybe he'll see the light.

Thanks.

Seriously how can you say these things? Are you aware of how jealous/bias you sound.
David Haye has shown a clever and the right game plan for all the heavies put in front of him and he continues to beat those put in front of him without any real trouble? You must be Enzo Mac to be to bias against him? GEEZ give it up!

Flint, thanks for wasting 5 minutes of my life.

I do have one question though, "how do you think Haye was feeling mentally?"

Out of nothing more than curiosity i took a look at all of Flint's posts from his join date. I can see that he is a tad infactuated with Welsh fighters (no harm there, he is Welsh after all) and also with David Haye, but he's not a troll, not in my view. He posts often about Haye, and has been accused by several members as being anti-Haye in the past, but i think if people were to take more care and read what he's actually saying, they might be able to reason with him on many of his points. I certainly dont think he's out to tarnish Haye's repuatation. This latest post is definately OTT for me, but its his point of view, of which he should be entitled to. Again, to be fair to him, i think the majority of us could reason with several of his points above.

Sorry Ali, but I have to disagree with you. In the past that might have been true but this definitely constitutes trolling as it's just 'bait' for posters.
I thought about replying in a more considered manner but his 'points' are so full of holes you could drive trucks through them.

Didn't the likes of Sugar Ray Robinson, Muhammad Ali and Carlos Monzon live like that? Didn't do them any harm. 8)

And Haye deserves some kudos for getting to where he has having had only 23 fights. He's shown immense patience during his career and bided his time and struck gold when the opportunity arose and shown he can come back from adversity after the Thompson defeat.
