Audley Harrison criticizing David Haye after Ruiz fight !!!

Post by Controversial »

Harrison was not over-impressed by Haye’s win over John Ruiz last weekend. “As a fighter he was entertaining and he’s carried his punch up to heavyweight, but the Chris Arreolas of this world and the Klitschkos will see weaknesses,” he said.

“I’m 38 but I only started at 19 and won the Olympics within ten years. After ten years as a professional, I know how to fight.”

Remind me, what has Harrison actually achieved as a pro part from winning the crap prizefighter series? Hopefully Srott will spark him again.

Ruiz would batter Harrison. Audley hasn't lived with anyone of that level remotely.

No not at all. I'm routing for him. Sure he's failed to deliver so far but with Harrison there's always that small chance that he could actually perform to the best his ability. I mean, if Sprott wins again we already know his limitations and should he get a title shot of sorts, its almost a dead cert he'll fall short. With Harrison, if he can get can on a roll and get some confidence it would be interesting to see how far this latest comeback goes. Sure there is a 90% chance it will end in tears and he will get ko'ed once he steps in with someone decent but there is that 10% chance that he gets it together, puts some wins together and gets a shot at Wladimir. I'd give him a tiny chance in that one.

That's why big Aud will always have supporters. Because there is always the chance he can live up to the hype. So.............Sprott ko4 then?

Glad to see im not alone.

Just watched his fight with Matthew Ellis when the riot broke out. Unbelievable.

Id love to see a Harrison/Haye showdown. The verbal exchanges would be unreal.

He's come out and said fair play, but has also said people will see weaknesses.

Just out of interest does it matter what he says? I think I remember some berk after Prizefighter saying Audley was out of line for donating the trophy to Sprott's family and he should have given Sprott the money he earned from Prizefighter.

I was warming to Audley but he just has a PR self-destruct button - he'll always say something eventually to remind us why we treated him with antipathy in the first place.

I know it sounds daft to us but I can actually see Haye fighting Harrison, if he wins. Any matches with either Klit for Haye are a little away - the fight would sell very well I think (don't use our logic but that of the general public) and I'm sure Team Hayemaker would see it as very little risk/high return.

Now...where's my matchmaker fee?

I hope Sprott knocks him to kingdom come and he just retires and takes his big gasbag mouth with him.

Audley should shut up, as a professional he's been a complete washout after all his big talk about conquering the world.

Haye talks the talk, but so far, he's walked the walk too. Win or lose against either Klit, Haye will have achieved ten times what Audley managed as a professional.

Audley's best achievement to date is beating a bloated, shot, spent and utterly disinterested Danny Williams, and by the way he acted you would have thought he'd just beaten King Kong with one hand behind his back.

The man is a phallus.

"I'm two fights away from the Klitschkos. I'm on a different level to Michael Sprott."

He certainly ended up on a different level when they last fought.

Love 'im or hate 'im, British boxing is more colourful for his ongoing presence!

Totally utterly agree.

How people can continue to have goodwill for such a boring, delusional git mystifies me.

Plus: in four fights at heavyweight, David Haye has won one (papery) title, beaten two top ten opponents, & one top twenty gatekeeper. In thirty fights at heavyweight, Audley has beaten... Matthew Ellis? Harrison is a tool.

Proud red mate although I'm finding that a little hard to admit these days.

Thing with Audley mate is that he was part of that BBC experiment at the start of last decade and you were so desperate to see it do well.

I wanted Audley to look impressive every time he fought and I guess that mentality has just stuck with me almost 10 years later.

yes, lol, i think his level was about 6ft2 lower than sprott.

the good thing is that sprott will be hungry to win this, the european title opens doors and commands decent purses.

come on sprotty !!!

Back then I was in my infancy for my love of boxing, and so I weren't subject to those Audley memories. Although I did watch him win gold.

Whilst I wish all British fighters do well, my brain has been trained to acknowledge Harrison as boring and mouthy. Mouthy isn't necessarily a bad thing, though big words need to be backed up by big results, and even more so big performances. The Olympic winner has yet to deliver, and winning Prizefighter didn't change my opinion of him.

I'd rather 'characters' like himself, would retire and save himself some dignity.

I'm also a big red, woe is us.

Audley is one of them - he craves attention, whether it's good or bad. Makes no difference to a spanner like him.

C'mon Sprotty!!

Audley Harrison maybe next to useless as a fighter, but he's a genius at self promotion.

How a man with his dreadful track record is still being talked about as a possible opponent for the HW champion of the world is a question that will still be asked long after mankind is extinct.
