Turkey Talk?

Charles and Bivens may be the unluckiest two in the bunch and fairly universally avoided....and Moore's bad luck streak is only barely eclipsed by TJF remarkable good luck streak.

Conn is just an abysmal bad luck streak. Honestly, his software specs are equal to Maxie's and he can barely get out of his own way.

Calzaghe is the only top performer that is not even rated in TB2.5 as a LHW....only as a SMW. That's an interesting fact.

Foster has had the best run with his rating....he has outperformed his specs rather dramatically.

Charles and Moore should be winning this in a route based purely on the software specs. Though TJF's and Tunney's software are pretty hard to beat as well.

However software has little to do with it. It's all about the nonsims factor.

I would invite each of you, my fellow managers and our legendary commish ( ) to rank the top 10 boxers of this season...

NOTE: I know the season hasn't yet finished and the titles may change hands a few more times yet.. Perhaps these lists will inspire some interesting fights toward the end.

I shall start first:

1 Tiger Jack Fox (Sav)
Unifed all 4 big titles, 1st Undisputed champion, longest title reign, longets unbeaten streak (20+ matches)

2 Bob Foster (Marlin)
2 time undisputed champion

3 Maxie Rosenbloom (BoxBuzz)
1 time IBF champ, 2 time Undisputed champion

4 Michael Spinks (Kevo)
Harry Greb tournament champion, 1 time WBU title champ (7 title defences), 1 time undisputed champion

5 Jack Dillon (Sockdolager)
1 time Undisputed Champion

6 Joe Calzaghe (Neri)
2 time IBF champion, 1 time WBO champion, involved in the first undisputed title fight.

7 Virgil Hill (CPU)
Best ranked CPU managed boxer... 1 time WBO champ, 1 time WBU champion.

8 Mauro Mina (Adamj1987)
original IBF champion, had 5 successive title defences.

9 Roy Jones JR. (Toppity)
1 time WBO champion, constant title challenger.

10 Tommy Gibbons (Fist Of Legend)
1 time WBA champion, Steady and regular top 10.
I'd omit Mina from that list. He was champion when all our fighters were still in the eliminations. Also, you're giving Adamj false credit - he only managed him after he was Champ.

Actually I think Rosenbloom has outdone himself in this brs...

If this were reality, I reckon we would all be expecting Charles, Moore, Spinks and Greb to destory everyone... (maybe with the exception fo Jones JR) :TU:

Thank you very much for noticing this

5 out of the top 10 refuse to fight Loughran so Loughran was forced to face fighters he already fought.

It was Tommy that originaly sent Billy Conn to the woodshed, from which he has never returned. An unforgivable act.

Did you see who he fought?

Go to the first weeks and check it out. Once again, all the good fighters were in the eliminators.

Excellent work Crease :TU:

One thing I feel I should point out, it was SimSlug Out that steered Virgil Hill towards his two titles, making him the first World Champ of any description in the new era.

This list is balls, like most of this season. Charles has fought just about everyone and never backed down from a challenge. Loughran the most avoided fighter....I think not.......

Fox- 0-1 against him, would say he is higher than Charles
Spinks- 1-3 against him, would say he's higher than Charles
Foster- 1-1-1 against him. Didn't want to sign rematch after last close fight. I'd rate Charles higher
Rosenbloom- 0-0-1, give me a break. Fought bums, Charles is higher
Calzaghe- 0-1, lost a close fight, would rate Joe higher
Moore- Never fought him. Rate Moore a little higher
Dillon- 3-1 against him, would rate Charles higher
Hill- 1-0 against him, Charles is rated higher
Jones Jr.- Never fought him and called him out a few times. Rated the same, at worst
Gibbons- 1-0 against him, rated the same at worst.

Stop looking at belts and instead people's overall body of work.

Kevo, Sav, JBacca and a few others have been honorable managers this year. Unfortunately there have been more shyt bags than usual.

I agree. I like to call it the 'BA&N* Syndrome'

I'm afraid that I strongly disagree... The list is accurate.
This season has been an exciting season with some great fights and twists and turns all over the place.
armageto wrote:Charles has fought just about everyone and never backed down from a challenge.
Agreed, Charles has fought a good standard of opposition and he has always been ranked highly...
Hence, the reason for him being included in the roll of honour.
armageto wrote:Stop looking at belts and instead people's overall body of work.
You can only approximate the greatness of a boxer by measuring his success...
The only way of doing this is looking at his achievements....
The fact is Charles has never been Undisputed Champion, and that seems to be the standard to break into the top 5 or 6 of the list.

Charles has had his opportunites to improve his credentials...
As it stands: Charles won the WBO title, had a single defence and lost it.

Charles has also been given three (failed) shots for world titles...
Week 9: lost a WBO title shot to Dillon.
Week 13: lost WBC/WBA title shot to Fox.
Week 37: lost Undisputed title shot to Spinks.

Frankly, you can have no complains... :shame: :shame: :shame:
You have been given more shots than most others... :TU:

Your record speaks for itself:
armageto wrote:Fox- 0-1 against him, would say he is higher than Charles

You yourself have highlighted these fights...
You have lost repeatedly to the top opposition...
Charles just doesn't deserve a place in the top 10.

I am sorry to be blunt but it is the best way.

Normally i'd say you can't argue with the facts, but Charles has been one of the better fighters this season. Definitely deserves to be ranked in the bottom half of the top ten IMO.

Charles > Dillon :(

Still, each a top 10 fighter.

Even James Toney cracked the rankings in the last few weeks. :DD

Conn and Rosenbloom are equal fighters.....one was managed the other was left to twist in the wind. Conn...would fight anyone anytime....Rosenbloom fought tough opposition when he had to. The software knows if you are "resting" and "pacing" your fighters. You want to take a fighter and treat him like he's a buzz saw it will wear him down. Pick your fights.....that's not a bad credo.
