Maybe it's a case of Lee being better at being punched in the head for free :OhYes:

Lee is a good boxer, but if and when the two of them meet I think Barker would beat Lee. Barker is getting better with every fight whilst Lee (and Duddy for that matter) seem to be having a few struggles with their development in reaching the next stage of their careers.

I think the Barker fight will be shown live at 11pm, straight after the Harrison v Sprott fight. Sky did the same thing with Small v Webb after the Hatton v Branco broadcast.

Barry,

You've got 45 posts and after clicking on your profile, every single one is slagging Darren Barker off in one way or another and championing Andy Lee.

I could understand it if Barker was an outspoken, marmite character, courting controversy - but the fact is he is one of the most normal everyday people in the game, with very tidy skills and a desire to fight anyone.

Yet your trying to twist every screw you can possibly find on him. Dragging up articles from 5 or 6 years ago when they fought as Amateurs ? you do know that Cotto was beaten by Keslon Pinto & Mohammed Abdullaev in the amateurs and annihilated both of them. Heck even David Haye was dropped and stopped by a roofer as an amateur.

Andy Lee is a good fighter, but he has plateaued as a professional, wheras Barker, who used to train on and off, crash the weight etc has now dedicated himself entirely to his career, in the name of his late brother - and boy can you tell.

He has an excellent boxing man in his corner in Tony Simms. No glamour or glitz, just a rock solid team of true boxing people. He's sparred the likes of Kessler etc and is the unbeaten British & Commonwealth champion - and soon to be European champion.

If you boy Andy Lee wants to fight, he should come right out and call him out - afterall it's a fight that everyone wants to see.

Infact if you know his number, send it to me and I will ask him straight out and publish it here on boxrec news.

Lee has come out and said A. he was never offered the fight B. He wants the fight C. He is happy to step in for either D. He is happy to fight the winner and E. that Barker is a joke for fighting Belgacham for the EBU title when Lee completely outclassed him his his last fight.

Myself and Barry dont agree on a lot but I understand his point here. Barker has looked good on ITV4 but the level of opponent is poor, some British posters on here have criticised Lee and Duddy as being hype jobs whilst at the same time performance a colonic inspection of Barker.

you either know nothing about boxing, didnt watch the fight or are a complete idiot to come out with something like that - I will let others choose.

Lee completely outboxed him for the whole fight and Belgacham caught Lee with 10 seconds to go and tied him up. What was the point in getting involved in a slugfest with a guy in the final minute of the fight when you have won every round??

There was no point, thats why Lee was running away for the last 2 rounds. He almost got dropped in the last round and held on for his life... accept it.

Let Lee see how Belgecham should be handled when Barker does a job on him easily.

he didn't "almost get dropped", his reaction immediately after the bell proves he was in no danger whatsoever, but I do know a fighters that been down a few times.......actually, I just spotted your registration date. Good one, you nearly had me there!

Lee wa holding on for his life mate and was the most relieved man in the arena when the bell went. Lets see if Barker has to hold on for his life too?

And lets not forget the time Lee did actually get stopped by a journeyman fighter. I didn't see Barker getting stopped by journeymen.
