Off course nuturing of meat is bad, that is quite a big part of it don't you agree?BarryWashington wrote:*Slaps forehead* Look, I'm going to put this delicately. Your views of "meat is bad for you!" is nothing more than a cause of nurture. You seem to be blinded by a vegetarian propaganda. PubMed is about as objective of a research field you will find, and the most respected/credible. If I have to I will pull up credible, unbiased studies that are up-to-date on why milk/meat consumption is not bad but is healthy for humans that will take up three pages worth in BoxRec World (only posting links, not the abstracts.) Obviously eating a substantial amount of red meat could pose health risks (that's not what is being debated.) I'm stating that meat is not bad for you in moderation, obviously consuming "too much" of anything will pose problems (that shouldn't have to be mentioned or specified.)Roars Like Me wrote:Oh my god you actually believe milk is good for you because the govt say soBarryWashington wrote: There is nothing wrong with eating meat. For one to say that health related issues are simply caused by too much dairy/meat consumption is false. There are many factors that indicate health related issues. You cannot pinpoint to one factor and say that it is the cause (like the morons that claim that High Corn Fructose Syrup causes obesity . . . no) for this when Person 1 may react differently to Person 2. Milk is very healthy for humans and along with eggs provides the best amino acids. *Waits for someone to come in here and tell me that Eggs are bad for your health and they put you at risk for coronary heart diseases . . . Ha! I love that joke!* Although, I do think Protein is slightly overrated as far as the amounts an athlete needs . . . an athlete will not have maximum growth and recovery in the cells by only getting "complementary amino acids" (e.g. beans, legumes, rice, peanut butter, etc.) For you to get a "complete amino acid profile" one must intake milk, eggs, cottage cheese, meat, fish, poultry, etc. Milk is bad for us? No, it is not. If anyone wants to further debate my claims you will have to weather a storm from the power of scientific facts *GASP, BARRY! YOU MEAN I CANT JUST MAKE UP STUFF AND GO OFF WHAT SOMEBODY TOLD ME?* No, you can't. In fact, for all those that might find what I said to be "false" do yourself a favor and . . . go to http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ and start to learn from facts, not subjective hearsay.![]()
On top of that the bed pals of the govt the USDA (in the States) can pretty much do what they like. You should read ex employees accounts of beef contamination and how it's swept under the carpet.
Mother's milk is good for us until 2 years old and then you get your calcium etc from food.
No other mammal in the world apart form humans drinks another mammal's milk. On top of that no mammal drinks milk into their adulthood, it's purely for the young to wean onto food.
Barry, do yourself a favour and research it all yourself before you listen this blinkered, old fashioned version of events.

There is no 'veggie blinding propoganda' regarding that.
My whole argument it that veg diet is healthier than a meat one. I have only said that meat is bad for you in unorganic form, organically it remains an ethical issue only. On top of that will be more lethargic trying to digest meat rather than veg, it just stands to reason.
As I've said I'm not adeverse to eating meat so I'm not 'blinded' as you put it. You would have to admit that you are sitting on one side of the fence yourself.

BarryWashington wrote:Roars excuse is what some of us more qualified nutrition experts call "bro-science". An example "this bro did this and he accomplished a lot so let's follow what he did/this backs up what I was saying!" But why don't we bring up the facts of 1) Genetics (which is something that can carry someone a very long way) and 2) Drugs that Mr. Universe competitors take. After these two facts are analyzed it's clear to see that, because Pearl was a vegetarian it does little to credit any claims supported by pro-vegetarians. For every two vegetarians you bring up, I will bring up 1002 carnivores. I'm done arguing. I know what is factual and if other members of this forum want to believe in something that's not, then that's fine. To each his own.Goodnight, Irene wrote:Now tell us how many Mr Universe's weren't vegetarian. LOL.Roars Like Me wrote:Bill Pearl won Mr Universe a few times, he's a veggie. I love how this was supposed to be a post about vegan/vegetarian boxers and now has become a discussion between if being a vegetarian is "right" or "wrong".
You really do have a bee in your bonnet don't you Barry, I'm not siding or trying to back myself up, I'm just tryring to think of somene as it's hard to..
Each to their own indeed with their beliefs, I know what's factual and it is up to you to keep on 'believing' in your own way
