Re: Antonio Cervantes vs
Obviously the change in weigh in times means that Cervantes is actually fighting bigger men than in his own time...
But if we try to compare...
I really rate Bradley. Seems like a solid pro who just goes about his job. He has good timing as shown against Witter but can he do it against Cervantes? I'd imagine Cervantes takes wins the fight but Bradley would do better with each rematch.
Hatton would need to get his head down and bore in...throw enough leather for 2-3 fights and he can win this BUT Cervantes is operating at a higher level and in this fight that would count for more than styles.
Pac would be a classic. I think Manny could take a decision in that one.
I don't feel I know enough about the others to really say for sure.

Yeah, I thought about that, but didn't want to list the current 130 or 135 guys. Actually in my Chacon post I included the guys who recently moved to 126 more becuase of the day before weigh in.Ezzard wrote:Obviously the change in weigh in times means that Cervantes is actually fighting bigger men than in his own time...
Almost makes these things P4P matchups.
Re: Antonio Cervantes vs
Bradley seems t o be a very good fighter, but has yet to fight a real fighter. At this point I don’t think he is at the level of Cervantes. Cervantes was able to deal with speed and power as he demonstrated on his fight vs De Jesus. Benitez was pretty fast and even though Benitez won that fight, it was by a slight margin. The difference here is the better defense of Benitez. At this point I pick Cervantes to win by a close decision.
Maidana is a huge puncher with no defense, Cervantes better boxing skills will be the difference. Cervantes by UD.
Hatton was a good pressure fighter, but Cervantes was in another level. Again Cervantes better boxing skills will make him the winner. Cervantes by TKO in 9 or 10 rounds.
Alexander is just too green at this moment. Cervantes is a proven fighter and Alexander needs more time. My pick will by Cervantes by UD.
Urango would surely loose every round. Cervantes by an easy UD.
Pacman is another whole story. I think Pac’s speed will give him the advantage. Pac by clear Decision.
For me Cervantes wins against all of them except Pac.

Re: Antonio Cervantes vs
Cervantes beats them all, (accounting for weight) 1 exception, PacMan would be a great fight, and I would favor Manny in this fight. But I don't think it's certain.
