Detectives I worked with spotted them doing it. Khan would give the chips to Pat, Pat would just take the chips to the cashier and cash them in. No tax on gaming winnings.
No tax on cash either, which is, effectively, how this barrister (and all of mine :P ) has been paid.
It is pretty hard to hide the amount of money a good barrister gets paid if it is in cash. They are not silly at the ATO.
