I get the feeling the Irish are very good at achieving the above.

Proksa was supposed to fight Belghecham for the EU belt a while back but Belghecham pulled out, presumably because he was picked to fight to Barker for the EBU. Proksa isn't as good as his record suggests. I can't see this fight going ahead on the 7th especially after Barker went 12 hard rounds against Belghecam. I don't see what Proksa has done to deserve a title shot either. Should be Ghevor next as he is the mandatory.

What a great fight. Respect to both for stepping up and fighting each other.

Very hard fight to call.

I think that this is the craic -

A. The 7th of May bill in London is happening.

B. If Barker coasted through the fight with Affif then he was on with Proksa on the bill

C. Thats now in doubt for obvious reason (thats not a pop just a statement of fact)

D. The McCloskey bill is a movable feast and that date is very provisional.

There could be trouble at a fight between Proska and Barker. Barker fans were not the most pleasant of characters the other night. No surrender chants and other racists songs were being sung.

so some ppl are still getting hypersensitive about andy lee. ok barker struggled. let's get back to lee-belegecham. what did lee do, besides beat someone that a) no one had heard of and b) lee was expected fully to win. and how much does that differ from almost 100% of andy lee fights. i was a believer in this guy once, but little progress is being made.

it seems barker was poor vs belechamp, and indeed barker may be overrated (or perhaps he was having an off night). i haven't seen the fight yet. but if barker takes on proska, then it's a risk that lee's ppl don't seem wiling or able to take. i mean, is lee going to fight anyone as tough as proska? is his claim to fame going to be, "he beat belechamp decisively, the same guy who gave barker a hard fight."

i also think terms like "nuthugger" are daft.

They both won, didnt they? There is WAY too much bias on here at the moment to have a sensible discussion. If the Forum was around when Benn fought Logan, people would have told him to hang up his gloves!I doubt they will ever meet, think both will hover around the European scene for a few years.

F*ckin idiots. Largely typical of London football fans (Chelsea, West Ham and Millwall to clarify). Do they realise that their taxes are going into the pockets of Gerry, Martin et al??

I dont think this fight will happen but i hope Barker fights soon, so he can prove it was a bad day at the office, And to be fair i dont think it was bad at all. He won the fight!!!
And why give Barker grief because of his fans? He doesnt tell who to come and who not to?! He supports chelsea fc doesnt he?so i guess theyre backing him. I do feel it was out of order if they were being racist but this has nothin to do with Barker!!! I read in another post that someone now wants Barker to lose because of his fans!!! Really???
Moving away from all that i think Barker should stay at european as there is many more exciting fights. Everyone would love to see Macklin, Lee, Duddy, Gevor ect ect. Lets just hope it happens and see who comes out tops. ;;-)

Well, Andy said he wants the fight and has made that public so it's up to Mick Hennessy and Brian Peters to make it, that is if Barker wants to share the same canvas as Lee
