Travis Simms is not WBA light Middle Champ??

Post by sumthin »

Winky will be most upset to hear that Travis Simms just defended his WBA light middle title against Bronco McKart.. I dont think Winky got stripped of it.... his record says he still holds the belt

I hope its just an error!!!

The WBA rules indicate when a boxer unifies another belt with the WBA one, he is named a "Super Champion" and has to defend the belt each 18 months, not 12. And the Super Champion hasn't to obligatory fight the regular champion. That happened with fighters as Roy Jones, Lennox Lewis, etc.

You need to keep closer tabs on the sanctioning bodies. You mean your not aware of Emeritus Champions and Super Champions?

Pretty soon they will be coming out with the "Upcoming Prospect That Might One Day Be A WBA Champion In The Make" title belt, but they are going to attempt to limit the interm holders.
